Another good watch. Several shorts from South of the border. I have only seen several horrors from Mexico but I know they can get :demonic: like Asian cinema. The name of the movie should give it away. They made a part 2, so maybe I'll check it out one day.

I watched Immaculate. It did feel like a mesh up of Rosemary's Baby, Suspiria, and The Omen. Sydney Sweeny was good in her role as was really every one else. I might have liked it more if was familiar with the other movies. I also saw The Devil Conspiracy last year and there were some similar plot points. This is better than The Devil Conspiracy. I also liked the ending.

I agree that this is the best horror movie I've seen so far this year But I haven't seen much. I'll make a list at the end.

Do Nuns really bathe each other in a communial bath house:dahell: NGL that took me out the movie for a bit.

I forgot I saw Lisa Frankenstein. I don't think it was bad but I'm definitely not the target audience for this movie. I didn't like the ending. The step sister was hot. I didn't even know Carla Gugino was in this movie but she eneded up being what I liked most in the movie.

Horror Rankings for the year so far

Immaculate
Night Shift
Double Blind(I need to rewatch this. I was doing something when I had it on. Might be higher)
Lisa Frankenstein
Night Swim

‘Abigail’ was a blast. Think I can say that for every Radio Silence project I’ve watched. Those two just know how to make a fun, campy horror romp. Melissa Barrera is officially their muse, and looked lovely as ever.

Final act went a little off the rails for me and almost felt like an entirely different film at that point, dare I say a sequel to last year’s ‘Renfield’. There’s a silliness to the whole thing from the get-go, but it felt overdone by this point. Dug the fact it veered away from being your typical vampire flick though. Ain’t any soft bites in this. Chunks of flesh are flying off of folks as they got bit, and it reminded me a lot of how Megan Fox was tearing folks up in ‘Jennifer’s Body’. Alisha Weir is incredibly talented and I can’t wait to see the Legion homie Dan Stevens in more stuff down the road.

Would’ve been a hard task to market this one without detailing the big plot point in some fashion. The film’s selling point, really. The flick spends quite a bit of time building up to that grand reveal, in ‘From Dusk Til Dawn’-like glory. Whether it’s in theaters or a late night watch at home, those who decide to go in completely blind on this should have a real good time with it. When the same group ends up raving about it, I’ll just be sitting here envious and wishing I could’ve had that same experience on first watch. :to:

I felt bad for being impressed with the nipples, but I figured they wouldn’t put them in there if they didn’t want us to look at them.
