I finally got around to watching The Strangers and Escape Room.

The Strangers was great and I wish I saw it earlier. I don't normally like invasion movies but this has to be the best one I've seen. The like because you were home is so great. Are the sequels worth watching?

Escape Room didn't do it for me. It might be because I marathoned all the Saw movies last year. I'm not into the traps from that franchise and even though I don't agree with his ideologies Tobin Bell as Jigsaw makes me a fan of that series. Are the sequels worth watching?
The Strangers: Prey At Night is a really fun movie and delivers one of the most beautifully shot chase/kill scenes in slasher horror history in my estimation.
To compare the original and the sequel I would say The Strangers was more A24 while Prey at Night was more Blumhouse. One was elevated/smart horror and one was populist visceral horror.

Saw Immaculate and The First Omen a week apart. It's funny how they got both movies released at the same time with a similar theme.

I enjoyed The First Omen better but they changed shyt up from the original
Didn't an actual Jackal give birth to Damien
?
Is that what it was? I knew they played fast and loose with the mythology but I wasn't in the mood to go back and re-watch any of the earlier films.

I re-watched See No Evil and See No Evil 2 last night and thought both of them were pretty entertaining slasher horror movies despite their faults.
Thought the sequel was better than the original, The Soska Sisters made a much slicker movie than the director of the first movie but the first movie had a much better Final Girl in Christina Vidal.
Kane may be a right-wing dikkhead but dude was perfect in the gigantic killer role.
Wouldn't mind seeing someone take another run at this franchise because Jacob Goodnight was a cool slasher villain with an interesting backstory and there was potential for this franchise to have legs.
Since Blumhouse is churning out movies like crazy they should buy the rights to this and let the Soska's take another shot at it. Maybe get Derek Mears to be the new Jacob Goodnight.

I did laugh at the ending, but I'll give it a 7.5

lol they pulled that ending out of their ass and it was still super predictable.

West where the Sunsets
Lake Placid Legacy was my recent watch. What a shytty film. :scust:

shytty CGI. Only one kill was decent. I was surprised to see Ralph’s from Sopranos make an appearance. Wasn’t expecting a known actor like Joe to do that shytty film. :heh:

I watched part 2 some years ago and thought it was decent. I haven’t seen the first one since it dropped and don’t remember how violent/bloody it is.
