After 14 years, the Friday the 13th franchise is finally getting set to return to the screen with “Crystal Lake,” an upcoming prequel series from A24, Peacock and Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal”) that’s miraculously able to use any and all existing elements from the franchise.

Peacock has given the project a straight-to-series order, with “Crystal Lake” being described as an “expanded prequel” to the original Friday the 13th franchise.

Variety had detailed, “The show will be written by Bryan Fuller, who is also the showrunner and an executive producer. Victor Miller, who penned the original film in the franchise, will also executive produce along with Marc Toberoff, Rob Barsamian, and A24.”

:ohhh:

Sci-Fi Horror Series ‘FROM’ Season 2 Release Date on MGM+ (Epix)

The second season of FROM will continue the mind-bending story of the mysterious town as a new group of lost visitors arrive.

EPIX has silently revealed the premiere date for the second season of FROM, the mystery, sci-fi series, which intrigued the fans with its first season. The horror sci-fi series ‘FROM’ Season 2 will release on April 23, 2023, on MGM+, which is also known as EPIX.

The second season of the series wrapped up filming last month in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, it was in production since July 2022. The sci-fi series is currently in post-production which will wrap up in May 2023. The network has not revealed the details of the premiere, but it is likely to follow the weekly one-episode structure starting April 23.

In Season 2, hidden truths about the nature and terrifying origins of the town begin to emerge, even as life for its residents is plunged into chaos by the arrival of mysterious newcomers. The first season ended with the arrival of a passenger bus full of new visitors, who like everyone, seems to be lost. The show has already confirmed the actor who will be playing these visitors. The new cast members will be Nathan D. Simmons, Kaelen Ohm, Angela Moore, AJ Simmons, and Deborah Grover. Scott McCord, who recurred as Victor in Season 1, will be regular in Season 2.

In the first season's finale, the townspeople gather as much wiring as they can to power the radio tower and got it working as a storm approaches. Jim connects someone on the radio but the voice calls him by name and warns him that Tabitha should not be digging. As Jim rushes home, the basement hole collapses, sending Tabitha into a tunnel where she is suddenly surprised by Victor. Victor warns Tabitha that the monsters sleep underground. On the other hand, Boyd and Sara leave the tent to discover they are in an area of forest covered by spiderwebs. Boyd is bitten by spiders and becomes delirious from the bites but Sara convinces him to persevere. Boyd and Sara recognize the light and horn as coming from a lighthouse. Sara is instructed to enter a nearby faraway tree by the boy in white. Boyd is pushed into a tree by Sara, and he is transported into a shaft where he is trapped. Meanwhile, a bus full of lost passengers arrives in town at the diner as the show ends.

Skinamarink was hot ass garbage. Just one hour and forty minutes of grainy shots of people's feet, ceilings, hallways and door jams. Dreadful.
Had this face the entire time I was watching it: :beli:
I give 'Skinamarink' 0.5 out of 4 Gun-Totin' Dr. Loomis'

The trailer looked like some bull shyt that was copied from a dark web portal. 🤢I warned everyone weeks ago that it would be garbage compactor status. Nothing in the underground grainy found footage subgenre tops The Poughkeepsie Tapes, these new grainies are not even worth taking a look.

Upcoming Friday the 13th series Crystal Lakehas evolved a lot since it was announced towards the end of 2022. While it was initially believed that the series would act as a straight prequel to the iconic horror franchise, therefore not touching on the events of Friday the 13th or including hockey mask-wearing Jason Voorhees. Now it seems that as well as the iconic killer, the series will also feature an appearance by Adrienne King, who played the original Final Girl of the 1980 movie.

Bryan Fuller being involved was all I need to be very optimistic about the quality of this Friday the 13th TV show.

I am wary of anything that gets hyped as "The scariest movie I have ever seen!" just because most people who say that are usually frightened by mediocrity.
I do think that there is some type of organized effort to make Skinamarink into the new Blair Witch and a lot of the effusive praise is part of that because I cannot fathom how anyone could be entertained by the absolute bullshyt I watched yesterday.

Damn. Maybe I need to start barraging horror flicks

Even weirder. Dan from Night Court narrating the original TCM.

I just finished the audio book Chainsaw Confidential not too long ago, and that farm they filmed on was growing weed. So everyone on that set was high as hell (almost everyone at least). This story totally tracks :mjlol:

:dahell: hold up,,, I don't remember this ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, let me go back and watch part 2 then :snoop: I can't recall nothing
Until my rewatch I forgot that Crazy Ralph got murked in Part 2.
I had mistakenly remembered him being in more movies but after Part 3 they kept inserting Crazy Ralph facsimiles because I guess they realized what a mistake it was to get rid of the franchise's "Prophet of Doom".
