Coli Horror Bros, it's funny you guys are mentioning Mimic. I want to see this so bad because Mira Sorvino's in

it. But, Creepshow demonic cockroach scene and The Fly scarred a 84 Baby; and made me deftly terriefied of anything that's insect. So, I'm a wimp when it comes to Horror Roach flicks:ohhh::banderas::huhldup::merchant:

Got my Oct. watchlist running early with a weekend marathon. Here’s the views so far

1. I started off with the shudder secret screening. That wound up being Dario Argento’s return with Dark Glasses. It’s a giallo movie about a woman struck blind by an attack from a serial killer, who works with a child (orphaned by the same serial killer) to survive the killer’s repeated attempts at finishing his kill.

It’s cool to see some vintage Argento flavor atop modern looks. But this isn’t a return to the classics that Dario gave us. It’s a solid thriller but not much beyond that imo.

2. Smile - I saw Smile on Friday night. I posted a bit on it earlier. Rather than reinvent the wheel, it took great elements from a bunch of really good horror movies and made something that feels new. It lived up to the hype.

3. Train to Busan is a modern classic to me and my friends hadn’t seen it yet. It needs no intro or breakdowns. This is one of the best zombie movies of all time.

4. The Descent was next and I still feel like its most effective bits are when characters are crawling through passages or wandering in darkness. The creatures take the energy up a notch but they’re an inconsistent threat. Still a very good flick and it would make a perfect double-feature with the Ritual.

5. May is one of those movies I’ve heard plenty about, but couldn’t get past the awkward beginning. It starts like a 00’s rom-com but gradually devolves into a final act that feels like earned gore. I got past the cringier bits this time and the conclusion was worth it with a final shot that is memorable as hell.

6. Sissy just dropped and I didn’t love it, but when things go off the rails…it gets pretty good. The main character was bullied in school but is reborn as a YouTube self-help influencer. She runs into old school friends that hint at a darker past between everyone, which gets revealed during a weekend getaway gone wrong. This one is a solid streamer with dark humor and a nice angle to its horror.
