I watched the worst movie that I’ve ever seen in the past decade over the weekend. This piece of shyt movie was so damn bad that the tornado was the best actor in the movie and he was only onscreen for 10 seconds. Like it’s not even Sharknado bad - it’s “this movie took itself too seriously” levels of bad, don’t get me started on the unnecessary subplots and character development. By the time the tornado came around at the 55 extra drawn out minutes mark, you literally wanted the entire town to disappear (with the exception being the little deaf girl and her pregnant teenage babysitter) - which the movie felt a need to a deep dive into for no reason because “MESSAGE” . Movie couldn’t make up it’s mind to figure out if it wanted to be a melancholy melodramatic redneck revival soap opera or Lifetime’s version of a “disaster movie” with 10 seconds of an actual tornado scene.

TLDR- Don’t watch this.

caught this one on a whim
if the acting was better, this would be a good movie
gore FX are good, the plot is decent
I have seen worse acting, but when you have a good enough plot that draws you in, bad acting will kill it for you

another low budget gem, nothing special
decent, acting leaves a little to be desired , but the fx are good

plus the lead actress actually committed a murder before filming started and got charged the day it wrapped
well, i guess she got top billing because of the publicity

they done went a remade dead space
looks great
once of the greatest horror video games ever made
the atmosphere, the gore , the creature designs , the dread of going through the levels
I wish someone would make a movie out of this ( and Bio shock too)

Closest thing I’m gonna get to a new-gen videogame adaptation of The Thing. :ohlawd:

Speaking of which, I may have mentioned it before but for either Xbox or Xbox 360 there was a wildly slept on The Thing game that acted as a direct sequel to the original Carpenter movie. It wasn't just cool because of the story either, it played pretty damn well...at least for the time, it might not have aged as well as I remember.

The Thing and Ghostbusters both have video games that act as sequels to the source material and both came out really great. I only wish that path became more viable when we can't get a sequel or when a movie budget couldn't create the visuals to live up to the vision.

Can you imagine that eye scene in 4K @120 FPS :why:

I remember the thing video game
that's the one where Macready saves the day in the end, right?
Did my breh Childs wrong on that, but he couldn't fly the copter, so from a plot standpoint they were sort of stuck

Damn good game

I last saw this in the theater when it dropped and watched it before the OG. Never remembered much about it except the shower scene. This is a basic copy and paste from the OG. I finally watched Hitchcock’s about 3-5 years ago and really enjoyed it.

Vince Vaughn, man, this dude basically plays the same “character” in most of the films he does. :mjlol:
