Anyone watch Glorious yet?
I have it on deck for tonight once I'm done with work.
Remodeling the house this weekend and it’s back to school for the Nicole0416 household - so I getting in what I can watch when I can , will add to my list though. In other news of the horror variety, kids are expensive - new clothes, new book bags, between online shopping, malls, town centers, my bank account has been micheal myersed:damn:
6 figures, they said- 😭between the gubbement and Life, that turns into 4 figures real quick :mjlol:

1. On deck for after 9:30 tonight - Orphan, First Kill premiere (Paramount +)
Cannot wait to see this :whoo:

2. Finish watching the Reef:Stalked
3) Tales of the Walking Dead ( it’s the separate anthology stories which they seem to have ripped off from American Horror stories / Tales from the crypt except with zombies) first ep is with Terry Crews so I’m tuning in to hate watch fukkery purposes (amc +)

4) American Horror Stories - Bloody Mary episode- (all black cast so of course I’m in) HULU

The girl who played “Annie” in the Jamie Foxx Annie movie is a whole adult now in this episode. So I officially feel old as fukkk!

My one complaint about this Orphan prequel so far is that Esther does not look 10 years old anymore - they waited about 5 yrs late to make this movie. it really looks like they dressed up a 25 yr old woman to play a 12 yr old, and you can see the age progression in some of those scenes and lmao at the “psycho dwarf” comment
:deadrose:
Whereas in the first orphan- she was actually a little kid. I don’t know if this was done on purpose or if it’s the lighting but the wrinkle lines are prominent.

Do we consider insidious a classic

I do, I feel like it's the point where James Wan really nailed down his formula for scares. Then he perfected it with the Conjuring. Those two films feel like the ones that a ton of other filmmakers and producers were chasing from that era (along with Sinister). They're the benchmarks of their style that kinda took over the 2010's.

EVIL season finale - 9/10
American horror stories - Bloody Mary episode - 5/10
Through the Glass Darkly - 6.5/10 (could have been an interesting plot twist but it’s been done already, you’ll see that I’m talking about if you watch it)

Men - idk , this movie is slow moving and weird - there better be a satisfying payoff bc I’ve been looking at grass and rolling hills for the past 45 minutes with flashbacks of a man impaled on a fence and a bald naked white walker, and was anyone else bothered by the fact that this lady had the audacity to pick an apple directly off a tree and start eating it without washing it first 🤢but I’m guessing that supposed to be an allegory for a later part of the story (garden of Eden) -

I do. Wan hadn't perfected his style yet, but Insidious was so great to me because so much of it was during the day time. Also, a lot of the jump scares were done right, which at the time was very refreshing. They didn't blare you with a loud stinger every time there was a jump scare, and they established early that the house was haunted, so a lot of the scares were actual ghosts and demons, and not just fake outs. The story took inspirations from stuff like Poltergeist but also seemed original too.

I don't know. I fukk with Insidious for sure. It's one of my favorites of the 2010's.

Was A24's Men any good? I was thinking of watching that tonight

It's weird even by A24 standards. It had a couple of a very memorable moments and images, but that's not necessarily a positive in every instance. I didn't hate it. There's obviously a lot of symbolism and stuff going on...but it's not one that I see myself rushing back to watch again. Though full disclosure, there's a scene at the end that's seared into my mind because of how crazy it is and the soundtrack was really cool.
