I saw Orphan: First Kill and it was surprisingly solid
I was watching it with a friend and in the first half we were just talking shyt and making jokes because shyt was lame
Then
Solid 7/10 flick. I'd watch a sequel. Shorty absolutely looks like a grown ass woman on a little girls body tho. That shyt ain't fooling nobody.

when you find out the mother and son had killed the real little girl and covered it up I was invested. It made everything believable because until then I kept saying only the father had a normal reaction to the girl being back. And the son gave me American psycho vibes early.

Heard it was trash and I don't like watching most of the teen stuff out these days but the trailer they released was kinda fire and I was a fan of the OG show before it became terrible

To be fair, I had pretty low expectations. It's a solid slasher series to pass the time for sure though.

I gotta skip the spoiler because I haven't watched yet, but 7/10 is def good enough for me to check for this. I was on the fence because the actress doesn't really look the part to me anymore (she looks too old like you mentioned).

Nah regardless of her looking the part, Esther bodied her character in this movie, she pulled this off well - after awhile her “age progression” is not a distraction. Definitely don’t spoil it for yourself, the twist is a huge aspect of this movie that sets the stage for the remaining scenes. I would rate the movie higher but the man playing the adoptive father is a terrible actor - dude has no type of chemistry at all, his scenes play out like he didn’t want to be in the movie, not convincing in the least- he talked/acted like he downed a fistful of Xanax before each scene.
