I finally got to see We're All Going to the World's Fair which came outta the festival circuit with some hype and then got delayed like crazy.

It plays out entirely through shared videos from different content creators that do the "World's fair" challenge. The conceit is that you don't know where the content creation stops and where there are reality begins, because you're only seeing their uploads.

It's a slow burn, and there aren't actual scares. It's more like a creepy vibe is pervading the whole thing. The lead actress really put in an incredible performance. She sold the hell out of the whole thing and a lot of this is her alone talking to the camera or reacting to the world around her. The director wanted to capture a disjointed dream-like feeling and that comes across. The uploaded clips approach helps to have that shifty dream-fell and also promotes an isolated feeling that's all over this ish.

Overall, I liked it but didn't love it. It's left vague enough for plenty of theorizing, but it's also got a a cool vibe for the Marble Hornets and creepy pasta generation. But there's not much action, and it ends as abruptly as it starts. I think it'll be a love it or hate it type of movie for most people. It's uneventful, but driven by a really great performance from the lead actress. I was really looking forward to this one...so I'm slightly disappointed, but I get why people were gassing it.

I started watching Hannibal recently and Jesus this show is great. Perfect casting too. It's almost like a family drama with lots of dead bodies and blood. They ever make another movie they should get the guy from this show.
Hannibal is a beautiful fukking show in every way and will always be the first show I mention whenever the discussion of shows that were cancelled too soon and/or shows that need to be rebooted comes up.

Say less. :popcorn3: I'm in.
I really really realllllly needed something interesting to watch and I forgot about this in my lineup. I watched the first episode a long time ago but kept pushing it back over the past year or so for other content. These struggle movies/series that I've been putting on are not the wave.

and it's on Hulu - :blessed:bout to put it on while I work. Thx.
Didn't know you hadn't watched Hannibal.
It is a legit great show as far as I'm concerned so I'm going to be curious if you enjoy it or not.

"Candy"
A five night event, premiering May 9 on Hulu. Candy Montgomery is a 1980 housewife and mother who did everything right—good husband, two kids, nice house, even the careful planning and execution of transgressions—but when the pressure of conformity builds within her, her actions scream for just a bit of freedom. Until someone tells her to shush. With deadly results. Starring Jessica Biel, Melanie Lynskey, Timothy Simons, Pablo Schreiber, and Raúl Esparza. Three-time Emmy nominee Robin Veith (“Mad Men,” “The Act”) wrote the pilot script and will executive produce. Nick Antosca (“The Act,” “Brand New Cherry Flavor”) will serve as executive producer under his banner Eat the Cat along with Alex Hedlund. Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple (“The Sinner,” “Cruel Summer”) will serve as executive producers for Iron Ocean. Michael Uppendahl (“Fargo,” “American Crime Story: Impeachment”) directed the pilot and will executive produce.

Can't wait for this one. I found the actual true crime story to be really engrossing so I'm hoping this show can be just as good of an adaptation as The thing About Pam was.
Also HBO is doing its own version of this story with Elizabeth Olsen in the lead role. I think it comes out later this year.

The Outer Range on Amazon Prime isn't really horror, but it's a sci-fi mystery type with some wild twists and reveals so far (6 episodes in). It feels like a fully realized idea too, no mystery box BS. They give you some pretty clear indications that there are going to be answers to the biggest questions. My big fear for From is that it'll wind up with disappointing answers to the main questions like Lost did. I don't think Outer Range will have that problem. It's got a dark tone to it and enough mystery that I think some of the regulars could dig it.
I have Outer Range on my watch list but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Might try to check it out this weekend.

Was Bates Motel good? I'll have to remember to watch Hannibal but I heard about that one too.

Matter of fact, what are some good horror TV shows?

So far I've watched

Chucky
Evil Dead
The Walking Dead
American Horror Story
Tales from the Crpyt as a Kid
Some Twilight Zone
The Hauntings on Netflix
Lovecraft Country
Stranger Things
True Blood

Bates motel is a slow burn , that slowly builds up to the fourth season , then is just great for the final two seasons.
its more character driven than anything else and takes some liberties with the retelling of movie Psycho in the final season that some take issue with , but I thought it was fine.
think of it as a alternate earth Norman Bates in multiverse of madness and you will be okay:russ:
My wife was dissecting it, like... "they did not do that in Psycho!" :francis:
I was like, just be happy we are getting quality horror on tv.

But if you have not watched Hannibal, just do it , its magnificent
it also takes liberties with the Manhunter movie and its remake The red Dragon in Season 3 , but is vastly superior to both

Anybody know if joe bob live will be on amc+? I switched from shudder to that because it has all the shudder stuff and I got it for like $2 a month
The programming that Shudder has is also on the AMC+ app. I believe. I have the AMC+ App because I watch amc series so I just upgraded. I think the only thing missing from the shudder/AMC combo is the “shudder tv” option, which might include Joe Bob live. But I think on AMC+ they have Joe Bob shows just not the live version.
