My comfort shows are usually lighthearted procedural type shows so stuff like Bones, Castle, Rosewood, Psych etc.

Writer-director Mickey Keating's horror film Offseason follows Marie, a woman who returns to the isolated offshore island where her mother is buried after receiving word that her gravesite was vandalized. She becomes stranded there until the spring when the island closes for the offseason. Marie then has increasingly strange encounters with the locals. If she's to make it out of there alive, she will need to unlock the secrets of her mother's troubled past.
The cast includes Jocelin Donahue, Joe Swanberg, Richard Brake, Melora Walters, and Jeremy Gardner.
RLJE Films and Shudder will release Offseason in theaters and on VOD and Digital on March 11, 2022.

I was so disappointed in Offseason. Its one of those movies that is all atmosphere with little payoff. And the director seemed to think obnoxiously creepy music was a substitute for anything interesting actually happening.

Only true horror fans will understand the concept of watching a horror movie to relax and unwind but needing the balance of a comedy to take the edge off right after. We are complicated.

Edit - the little girl child that has half Of my DNA just came into my room, has hijacked my bed and now wants to watch the fast race cars on Formula 1 - Netflix. I have no life she just interrupted a perfectly good movie that I’m vibing with so that she can have her way? She brought in her pillows, blanket and stuffed animals perfectly placed on the bed. My bedroom watch movie moment went from me and myself to 10 stuffed animals, 40 pillows, hot chocolate - she has her playroom and bedroom for this but nooooooo my room is her target.

I might be a weirdo because my comfort show is definitely Criminal Minds lmao. The only comedy I might watch to go to sleep is like Community or South Park. I very much used to fall asleep watching scary stories on YouTube
