Haven’t seen @MartyMcFly much around these parts or @Neuromancer . Are y’all good?? The old crew is growing up and going on to greener pastures. It was nice while it lasted. Marty has his writing career , @Neuromancer with comic book/graphic arts ventures - the only constant is change. They are all growed up, navigating the world, going places and doing big things. Jello will be jelloing. Drop in and say hi to your former THT cyber e-crew every once and again. Don’t mind me, I’m feeling nostalgic on this rainy day.

Should be able to get back to posting here for awhile. Moved into a new house last month and everything’s finally getting situated. Watched Fresh last night and liked it a lot. I scrolled past everyone else’s posts about it here to go in not knowing much. So idk if anyone mentioned this yet, but Fresh and Raw would make a hell of a double feature

I took a break from watching the second season on Castle Rock because I had never seen Salem's Lot and that's where it's based. Checked out Salem's Lot and I fukk with it for the most part. Solid little vamp flick. After that I got in the mood for some more Stephen king adaptions so I looked up all of them ranked. It was funny reading the reviews because King really don't like most of these adaptions and the books they based on kinda terrible too. What I did find out was that there's an extended cut of the movie Needful Things that over 3 hours. :ohhh:

Found it on YouTube. I've watched the regular version a bunch of times but that cut always seemed weird:patrice:

The extended version makes it a much better movie. That town ain't have a chance:wow:

Any time I need something to watch, this is home base. When I'm hype about a horror, I usually think of how I'll post it about to yall. This is definitely a dope little horror community we've got with a gang of regulars and new names popping up. I appreciate yall!

Have you seen it already? What did you think? (And do you think it’s too “scary” or graphic in the sense of letting a pre-teen see it?) No spoilers please. Thanks, Jello.
I liked it a lot and there is violence but not anything too gruesome.
There are allusions to sex work and seedy organized crime stuff.
A few curse words tossed in here and there.

For a pre-teen it would depend on what they had been given access to previously to keep it real. Like if they've watched any PG-13 horror stuff then they should be good with this. I would be more worried about how a pre-teen would do with sitting through a 3 hour long crime drama though.

Yes!!! I really liked Scream 5- I have no complaints honestly.

Except for the fact that @Jello Biafra is hinting that his favorite final girl, Hayden Preposteroustteri might be reprised for Scream 6.
Why Kirby Must Now Return For Scream 6
Now that Scream's 2022 reboot proved her Scream 4 character is still alive, Hayden Panettiere's Kirby needs to return to the series in Scream 6

I hope she is NOT. I don’t like her.

Thanks for your feedback!

This movie is 3 hours!!!
:mjtf:
Why is this movie so long… sheeesshh. I can’t think of a reason that I’ve sat still anywhere for any reason for 3 hours uninterrupted, nevermind having a child sit in one place that long.
:skip:
But this seems like one of those movies where you HAVE to see on a movie screen with the immersive in- theater experience and premium sound/seating/etc - one of those “drafthouse” type theaters with exclusive seating.

Your image is not displaying. I can’t see what you’re posting.
:unimpressed:
Anyways, if Kantbie is returning for Scream 6, that might just be Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2020 status- a dub. Scream had a good run while it lasted. All good things have to come to an end. Or maybe Ghostface will kill her in a 5 minute opening scene and take her out like Drew Barrymore.
:snooze:

That’s the impression that I get with Stephen King as well. In his interviews he seems like he hates or gets depressed about the movie adaptions of his books. Like he has post adaptation regrets - every interview whether tv or article write up, he is filled with deep rooted animosity, and multiplied when he doesn’t like the actors/actresses that star in the movies.
:laff:

"I’ve had a lot of things where I felt, been able to feel really pleased about the outcome. And if it doesn’t work so well, I can say, well, they went out and they gave their best shot but I didn’t have anything to do with it. I’m just a bystander in this car wreck."
:mjlol:
He’ll sit there and talk for 45 minutes about his books. But as soon as the interview switches to his books, his mood changes. Interviewer “Stephen, what’s your best movie”
Him: :unimpressed:*10 seconds of awkward silence

Except for “Carrie” “Misery”
and “The Dead Zone”. Seems like his most popular movies are a direct coorelation to how much he dislikes it.

“Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is a horror staple. However, the book's author, Stephen King, openly professed his dislike for the film. When Stanley Kubrick's The Shining was released, it became an instant success and has since solidified its place as a staple horror film and supernatural thriller.”

“When Stephen King agreed to this interview [CONDUCTED IN 1984], he had not yet seen the movie Christine, and was therefore, understandably, not willing to comment on the film. He was, however, happy to talk about his novel and his own feelings about the fifties.”

“I kept my mouth shut at the time, but I didn't care for it much,” King once said. “I feel the same because the character of Jack Torrance has no arc in that movie. Absolutely no arc at all,”

And the fact that he has authored all of those horror books to the point where he scares himself-
King himself sleeps with the lights on to keep monsters away, as he explains in this his first “up close and personal” TV interview with Henry Nevison for UMO (University of Maine Orono) in 1982.”
