This new show From looks like some hybrid mix of Children of the Corn & Night of the Living Dead. I'm intrigued. Glad it's a show and not a movie. Gives time to build the story and characters.

That scene with the grandma by the window in the first ep was

Watching “TCM” right now. Man how TF is it so difficult for these professional film makers to get a TCM reboot/sequel right? It’s all already laid out for you. Just have some brutal, practical effect kills, don’t try to make leatherface a hero for some reason, and don’t have any ridiculous shyt going on that distracts from the fact that a fukked up cannibal family is using their special needs son to kill people for them to eat, and you’re good. How has it been almost 20 years since someone has cracked this code?

Explains a lot- movie fell off mid way through the movie

The Tohill Brothers left the movie after only a week of production and David Blue Garcia was allowed to start from scratch when he took over so that cannot be used as an excuse for why this movie ended up the way it did.
Reports were that The Tohill Brothers were unable to align with the vision the producers had to "honor the spirit of Tobe Hooper's original Chainsaw" but considering how the new movie turned out I think no one involved really understood what the spirit of Hooper's movie was.

First episode is insane - Interesting asf. You can feel the sense of dread with the lost family in the camper trying to find their way.

as soon as I saw that Harold Perrineau was in this- I knew it was worth the watch

Epix premiering this is a Nice recourse from the epic fail letdown that is Texas Chainsaw. They released the first three episodes which is good so we don’t have to wait week to week for the next. My only problem is they need to stop this trend of showing mutilated corpses of kids under 17 in various aspects. Too much graphic - before, that used to be taboo in horror movies but now it’s become commonplace. I don’t care about adults but seeing a child not more than 8 or 9 years old - they could still get the point across without the added shock value. It’s disturbing. But other than that - looks Ike EPIX got another one.

I watched the first 3 episodes of From last night before going to sleep and we got something with this show.
This was just bleakness and dread all over the place in this one and whatever those things are that come out at night they are vicious as hell.

The ripped apart kids didn't get me but there is one kill that had me like when they showed the body.
