Resident Evil: Welcome to Racc00n City

When? November 24, 2021 (US), 3 December, 2021 (UK)

Where? Theaters

Yes, the long-running movie franchise based on the even-longer-running videogame franchise is getting a reboot. Resident Evil: Welcome to Racc00n City will see 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts marshal the survival horror carnage, with The Maze Runner's Kaya Scodelario starring as Claire Redfield. The Tomorrow People's Robbie Amell and Ant-Man and the Wasp's Hannah John-Kamen also feature. It looks a lot closer to the games than the previous movies did, which is hopefully to its benefit.

Paranormal Activity 7

When? March 4, 2022

Where? Paramount Plus

In a rare case of a movie’s release being brought forward (from a planned March 2022 date), Paranormal Activity 7 is heading to Paramount Plus as an “unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise,” according to ViacomCBS’ streaming bosses. A reimagining? Maybe. But unexpected? Not at all. Expect more of the series’ customary handheld horror.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn

When? TBA, late 2021

Where? Theaters

Another reboot – though perhaps from a less well-known horror franchise – is hitting theatres in 2021 in the form of Jeepers Creepers: Reborn. It’s being directed by Timo Vuorensola from a screenplay by Sean Michael Argo, and is intended as the first in a planned trilogy set apart from the first three movies of director Victor Salva.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

When? TBA, late 2021

Where? Netflix

There’s not much to go on for this one, but Texas Chainsaw Massacre is returning as a Netflix movie directed by David Blue Garcia, based on an original story co-written by Fede Álvarez and Rodolfo Sayagues (both known for their work on Evil Dead and Don't Breathe). It will represent the ninth instalment in the franchise, and is intended to be a direct sequel to the 1974 original.

2021-2022 is coming in sturdy - vibezzzzz

I don't get the argument that there are too many werewolf movies. Out of all the subgenres of horror I'd say werewolf stuff is always under-represented.
I think 2021 has had only two werewolf movies (Werewolves Within and The Wolf of Snow Hollow) the whole year.
And while The Howling is cool, if I were to have a werewolf flick remade I'd go for Wolfen.
The concept behind the original would be pretty easy to update for current times and would feel just as timely.
2021 is a gap year due to covid. Watch my spring 2022 there will be 50-11 werewolf movies . I won’t be watching not a one.

My best friend hasn’t seen them and I tell him every single time to make sure he’s in the mood for some wild freaky shyt. If he’s not, then don’t watch it.

Same for you. Both movies are wild freaky sex shyt lol while also being wild horror shyt. Beyond anything in exorcist 3, which is still just a serial killer movie with religious horror. Hellraiser is some shyt that I’ve seen two movies and I said “yup I’m good”
:picard:
I might have to pass on Hellraiser- I really DO NOT like horror movies with sexual scenes - that’s one of my pet peeves actually. I’ll take the gore, violence, whatever but graphic or prolonged sexual scenes in horror movies serve no purpose. Yuckkkkkkk. If it’s like a quick scene like in Friday the 13th that plays a role in the plot but other than that. I don’t want to see it. Nevermind - that’s a NOPE. Horror movies with graphic sex feels to uncomfortable in drawing the line between that and a dark web snuff scene. It gets too weird for me. All of the great horror movies and franchise headliners had limited to no sex. That’s probably another reason why I’ve avoided watching Hellraiser subconsciously.

There are too many werewolf movies- you are under counting due to your bias. And another genre that’s starting to irk me is Zombies.. ughhh. Ok we get it- the undead. I blame The Walking Dead for this though. Look at this list and tell me:
Van Helsing
wolfen
Wolfman
Mortal Instruments
Howl
Wer
What we do in the freakin shadows
Among the freaking shadows
Dark freaking shadows
I’m getting annoyed just listing out these movies bc it’s so many
Red Riding Hood
Wolfcop
Teen wolf
Skin walkers
The howling
The howling reborn
Breaking dawn with those Twighlight bytches and that moody ass chick
New Moon
Ginger snaps
Ginger snaps back
Cursed
Teen Wolf
Teen wolf 2
Tween Wolf
Mid life crisis Wolf
Howling vol 4698755
Never Cry wolf
Cursed
American Werewolf in Paris
American Werewolf in London
American Werewolf in America
Bad Moon
Blood Moon
The Beast
The Beast of Bray Roads
The Beast gets the Beats
Beastly
Lost Boys
Lost Boys remake
Legend of the Werewolf
SkinWalker
Walker the Wolfen Texas Ranger
Wolf blood
Full eclipse
Romancing with Wolves
Shows:
Legacies
Bitten
Buffy
Teen wolf
Vampire diaries ( because you can’t have wolves without vampires)
True blood
Fright Night
Harry Potter and the Wolf of Half Blood Wall Street
Hemlock Grove
The Strain

Yada yada. You see where I’m going. No other genre has this much attention since 2000s besides wolves. There are other beasts besides werewolves to make movies about. We need more ocean movies, forest movies, sea beast movies, ghost movies,
Aside from so many of the things on your list not being actual werewolf movies, there is nothing recent on there either.
Name the werewolf movies (and I'm just talking movies) from the past 5 years and tell me the market is too oversaturated with them.

Meanwhile you mention needing more ghost movies when that is one of the most overused concepts in horror over the last decade.

That’s what Hellraiser is all about. S&M. Someone who experienced all the freaky shyt he could and wasn’t satisfied anymore. So he got a puzzle box that he was told would give him pleasure beyond anything he’s known. And the story went from there

Not watching based off that. That’s not my type of vibe or movie.

No Jello. You are incorrect in your opinion. This is what we’re doing? Are you prepared to have a fight night? I’m not feeling what you’re saying about ghost movies at all. Don’t act like werewolves haven’t been marketed for like the past 20 years; you did read my list right?? Then what is the argument?

Watching child’s play 2

where is the mom from the first one lol
She’s in the crazy house. They stuck her in the insane asylum claiming she made up all of the stories about Chucky and neglected her child. The cop lied to his superiors to keep his job and not appear “crazy” like her. So child services took Andy, put him in foster care and stored her in a psychiatric hold indefinitely. Possibly one of the saddest most overlooked part of the series of events.

Lol- what’s the more tragic “end” to a pivotal horror movie secondary character. Choose from these 3:

a) Halloween - Dr. Loomis never being able to “cure” or end the serial killer reign of , Michael Myers even though he dedicated his life career to doing so. Was burned in a fire and hitchhiked all the way to Haddonfield only to end up dead and seeing people around him get murdered.

b) Aliens - Newt (and Ripley’s crew) dying in hypersleep. Then they do a 2 second blurb explaining this in the follow up movie

c) Andy’s mom- knowing that Chucky is a killer doll. That she ends up in a psych ward and never seeing her son again even though everything she said is completely true and happened in real life.

It’s dark as hell. Facts. I had to re-read what I typed. I didn’t really think about it until you asked the question.
:picard:
Even darker is how no one really gave it a second thought like- Everyone just moved on. We as the viewing audience were like - awww that’s sad, when’s the next Child’s play. More Chucky
:ehh:
His mom is literally sitting in a hospital rotting - he was a teenager in the military academy and never reunited with his own mother. The only thing she did “wrong” was buying him a doll that he wanted for his birthday. Who killed her best friend and ruined her life and her son’s.
