Don't get one because I won't use it.

But if I don't have one...

So either way I won't use it...

So the only diff is that I pay a gun store. That can be seen as positive..?

Didn't say you wouldn't use it, said if your worried about accidents constantly you wouldn't use it, rent one do some practice shooting and determine from there if a firearm is right for you

FWIW, a shotgun is the most versatile firearm you can get, if you were to only have one. Get a mossy, remington or bernelli and take it to the range a couple times to acquaint yourself with its action and then pick up a couple boxes of 000 buck and stash it unchambered somewhere that the kids won't find it.

Man I hate going to the gun range and seeing them thin ass wood walls between me and the stall opposite mine. I think more ranges should improve or "market" their stalls as Kevlar padded or bulletproof. This shyt is irksome personally. That's why I only go when its not crowded. I avoid holiday ranges as much as possible because I feel some idiot is going to accidentally discharge.

Do you guys keep your pieces locked up (your main gun) when you home?

I do thinking about keeping it out like under my bed or something

I have a kid so I keep all of mine unchambered (but with the safety off). My rifles stay in the safe while my shotguns and pistol are not.

I live alone so no. One rifle is kept under my bed and another in the closet. One pistol under the pillow and the other in one of the drawers in the night stand.
