amir doesn't want none of josesito..might as well give him another gimme fight against soto before someone takes his jaw off again

lopez-maidana would be :wow:

Not that I would bet on Soto, but the way Khan was getting tagged in his last fight, a veteran like Soto could conceivably pull off the upset :manny:

Photo: Proksa Injures Hand, March Return Postponed - Boxing News
By Ruslan Chikov

Former EBU middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa (29-2, 21KOs) returned to action Saturday night, winning a six round decision over Norbert Szekeres (13-21). It was Proksa's first win since last year's beating at the hands of WBA/IBO champion Gennady Golovkin. He was reportedly going to return as part of an ESPN televised card on March 23rd at Turning Stone Casino in New York - but the boxer injured his hand in Saturday's victory and the March return will now be postponed to a later date. The hand is said to be broken and surgery is possible.

Glad to see Ortreez not sitting on his ass and is making big time moves, this shyt is exactly why I can't respect Guerrero, Ortiz jumped at the chance to make 2.5 from Floyd, and he has parlayed that into many hustles, being a male model, selling cream, being a reporter at events. Does Guerrero not know Ortiz dominated Berto in far more impressive fashion

Why not fight Lopez at 147? fukk is the point of a catch weight. I think 1 of kahn problems is he can't make 140.

If he can't take 140, he damn sure aint taking the punches at 147, where nikkas rehydrate 160-165

It has nothing to do with weight he's still a small LWW, bytch is afraid of getting his chin smashed, if Lopez took Ortiz bombs stood tall, broke Ortiz Jaw and almost killed him, what would Lopez do to china chin, is Khan gonna be able to keep Lopez off him by tossing feathers at him

My advice to Khan, forget about a Floyd match and stay the fukk away from 147, him and schaefer must be butt buddies or something

Kahn moving up in weight means his chin can better absorb those hits..

So what nikkas is hitting harder at that weight, which is why Khan is hiding behind that catchweight mess

Not to mention that is not always a guarentee seeing that Khan is already a small fighter at 140, look at the Garcia and Peterson fight, they had no fears of going in the trenches with him, pushing him around to deliver those bombs

After Garcia tasted his best he had the :stopitslime: look, stood right in front of Khan and started winging precised bombs. His chin is just one part of the problem with Khan, he has little power, and thats what got him beat in his last 2 l's. nikkas would come at him like that if they had something to fear

Original Story

My take on the Rios-Alvarado II
I am hearing a strong opinion being voiced by a majority of fight media and fans, the same ones who believe Danny Garcia is a top 5 P4P fighter and Donaire still hasn’t fought anyone worth a lick of salt. The argument goes that we, the fight fans, are being robbed of seeing the fight we want to see by getting a rematch of Brandon Rios vs. Mike Alvarado. Now, I might be biased, since I was at the first fight smiling like a middle school student who just started to understand individuality for the first time. You may ask a simple question then, why should we care? Well let me explain.

For starters, the first fight (in my opinion) ended too soon and at that point in the fight I had it 4-2 for Mike Alvarado. If the knockout had been ruled a knockdown, then it would of been 4-4 heading into the last three rounds of the fight. On top of this, the fight consisted of zero, yes that is right, zero clinches and had some of the best exchanges I have ever seen live. From Brandon Rios smiling and saying “I love this” after being hit so hard by an Alvarado uppercut that you thought his head spin around like the child from the exorcist, or when Rios would stay in close and use his better technique to counter the reckless Alvarado. The fight played out like a boxing match from a James Cagney movie, it sat in the beautifully lit arena that is the Home Depot Center, as two warriors fought.

Then you hear the naysayers comment that Mike Alvarado is a bum. This is invalid, because even though Alvarado has a tendency to fall behind in fights and start slow with style, Alvarado brings trouble for anyone. That style is a man who is naturally strong, hits hard and seemingly gets stronger as the fight goes on, which is evident by the fact that he has finished off a few opponents in the final round of his fights. It is not unlike the avoided fighter Ajose Olusegun, whose record doesn’t look nearly as impressive due to the fact that nobody really wants to fight. That is sort of the situation Alvarado has been in, guys don’t like being knocked out and he can knock out anyone in his weight class.

Then you have to take into consideration that the winner of the original war was promised essentially a Manny Pacquiao payday until Marquez knocked out Pacquiao, potentially out fighting anyone but Marquez, one last time. An unhappy Rios was not too keen on the idea of fighting Alvarado again, since he wanted to move up and become a bigger star for Top Rank. Enter the WBO jr. welterweight title that will be on the line that will put the winner in the ranks with the three other belt holders and an added incentive.

Khan's a bytch and I hate to say that about a boxer, but josesito went from 135 to 147 with no problem and actually carried his power. Khan would get his ass beat from post to post by Lopez.
how long has ortiz been out of action?
