He was kind of too hot headed to be a great defensive fighter, even though he had the athletic ability and ring smarts to do so imo.

You hit someone like Judah with a good, hard punch....he's trying to come right back and get his in because he's now mad, and his defensive responsibility is now gone out the window.

Rarely do we see someone who's an "angry fighter" have top notch defense.

kind of funny how zab and sweet pea in the 90s and broner and floyd present day mirror each other in a way

You must have forgotten about the fukkery that was going on in between rounds when Sweet Pea was in Brock's corner for the Chambers fight. Them nikkas had Pernell making all types of faces in that bytch. Brock had a top 50 atg in his corner giving him instructions, but this nikka kept listening to his pops instead. :mjlol:

and that's what made Duran and Tyson so special in their primes, because they fought angry as fukk and still made you miss and pay and then some.

You right though. Zab had the tools and reflexes to be a great defensive fighter. It was evident in the Millet fight the way he was dodging punches, but he'd get too emotional and spiral out of control sometimes.

yeah zab was just really immature and wild..that brooklyn bullshyt he was on it :heh:..its a shame that when he got to a point where he got less wild, his prime went south

People underrate Tyson's defense a lot. He was great at bobbing and weaving and hiding behind his "peek-a-boo"....only to unleash an uppercut or hook (didn't matter because either one he could KO you with from 1 shot) from hell on you because he had elite handspeed & power for a Heavyweight:ohlawd:

Or too arrogant as well.

He always gets the perm :shaq2: when I think about him vs Tszyu:snoop:

to his credit...shyt was a razor thin win and i thought lucas pulled it out by 1..but i have no problems with him beating Lucas and owning his zero..its a win that has stature...his last of that sort..this was when Lucas used to be a crazy slow starter..now lucas losing to Devon is another story (but ill save that for another time)...but he had some troubles with mabuza after and pulled it out...the fight with vernon paris was i think his last solid performance as a whole from beginning to end before the danny and paulie fights
