I actually believe he will need him.
Floyd & Pacquaio where at lower weight classes & had so many options that they didn't need to do the fight for years.
Canelo doesn't have that luxury.
The big problem with someone like GGG from a promoter perspective is that if Canelo loses, it's a huge blow. What are you gonna say, GGG was too big & proceed to drop down to 154? Canelo is just in his mid 20s & will outgrow the weight if he hasn't already.
If he can't get anyone from ww at 155, maybe he should look at embracing his future as a legit 160 lbs guy. Follow the Andre Ward plan & get acclimated to the weight. Handle boxing the right way instead of just looking for the biggest fight available every single fight.
