One of the many reasons I can't stand him lol. He played the waiting game on Roy & Hopkins. Aged them out but got dropped by both well outside of their prime; especially the ghost of Roy Jones Jr. who would've sparked him within 6 in his prime & pre-Tarver weight cut

hopkins gassed out against calzaghe doing his old man bhop stuff but made calzaghe win ugly

the roy fight..i mentioned before the sohh fight thread on it was somebody saying "damn roy" every couple of posts..bruh was cut while joe was playing in his wheelhouse doing what prime roy used to do beating his ass straight after the 1st round...roy cutman was useless that night

Dawson was on his way to HOF even after the Ward and Stevenson loss if he could have picked himself up. Beat B-Hop, went 4-0 with Tarver and Johnson. Adamek. Maybe if he got to Kovalev first his career looks a lot different provided he could win.

35 years ago today, that piece of shyt Richard Steele gave Chavez a win.

I remember everything about that card and that weekend. I was 18 years old at the time and a HUGE boxing fan(been a fan since I was 5 years old) This was on the undercard of Tyson vs Bruno and that night Christy Martin stole the show. Lipsey had just beat Derrick James(yes THAT Derrick James) a year or so prior and that helped get him a shot with Hopkins. So much history that weekend. Hopkins ended Lipsey's career, Tyson became a 2 time champion, Christy Martin and her opponent(I can't remember her name while typing this) put women's boxing on the map, and Quincy Taylor was robbed(yet again Richard Steele favoring a Don King fighter) against Keith Holmes. All of that was on the same card. Someone just recently uploaded that Taylor vs Holmes fight on youtube because that shyt was never online for decades. I still have it on vhs.. After all that happened on saturday night, the very next day on Sunday, Darvin Ham shattered the backboard against Carolina. That was the front page of Sports Illustrated. i also still have that mag too hahah.
