@Newzz @ChocolateGiddyUp @synistr

go to 13:00, the same exact scores as last night:sas2:

Alot of parallels here.

A long time dominant, seemingly unbeatable p4p king being dragged into a dogfight that he wins clearly. But looks extremely vulnerable in the process. Fans proclaim "robbery" because they're not used to seeing them in that type of fight and demand a rematch. Said p4p king gets KO'd in the rematch.

"got any excuses tonight Floyd" :damn:

Great breakdown breh:salute:

I agree

Thanks breh. :salute:

One of the most underrated aspects of scoring a fight is the overall impression of it. Maidana gave the impression that it was his type of fight for 12 rounds. Even during the rounds he clearly lost, it was still his type of fight. Sometimes that alone can sway certain close rounds for people. I for one don't think it's far fetched for some people to think the fight was a draw or a Chino win by 1 point because of how the fight looked. Add in the fact that Floyd was getting his Arthur Abraham on with all of the bytching and complaining he really helped give the impression that things weren't in his control. Floyd still won in my eyes, but it's pretty hard to give him more than 7 clear rounds. I was reading other message boards and some nikkas were giving Floyd 9 and 10 rounds out of that fight.

People shyt on Broner, but I felt he had better moments against Chino than Floyd did. He at least visibly buzzed Maidana about twice. Floyd never did that.

Maidana was like the school bully that beat up Lil Bro (Broner) and then proceed to give Big Bro(Floyd) all he could handle before the teacher came and broke it up. In a situation like that, only the bully really looks good. He gets a clear victory and a extra moral victory to boot. :manny:

Roy fought his normal fight and had a tough night. Floyd didn't fight his normal fight until the 2nd half and started taking over then.

Might be true....but Broner losing to Garcia won't be as bad as if Garcia lost to Broner.

Garcia would immediately be labeled a bum if he lost to Broner:mjpls:

Besides Garcia would be the favorite, and rightfully so, so Broner and Garcia would have the same amount of pressure to win.

Its a damn shame your boy on that big bro bs cuz Broner vs Peterson late summer then...

Swift vs AB for undisputed in winter would be fukking huge

I can see Herrera vs AB tho late summer...AB wins brags how it was easy N that sets up the clash in the winter

You have your own personal criteria.. I have my own criteria and the judges have their own criteria.. Floyd was getting bullied and mauled up against the ropes the majority of the fight.. That shyt was effective and that shyt was aggressive.. Maidana landed more power shots regardles of the total punch percentage.. percentage shows the punches landed divided by punches thrown.. nothing more nothing less.. Floyd only won 5 rounds decisively

then there is no point in good defense, clean punching, or ring generalship. thats what you are saying. someone can maul you all night and win. power shot is anything that is not a jab and it doesnt have to land clean...only partially.

Yes nikka, deeemoollissh. AB ain't on that level yet

What level?

Garcia isn't an elite fighter. Garcia would be the favorite because he's the Champion and "undefeated", but he's not above being beaten by AB in an upset

I would say Garcia would win, but he wouldn't demolish him:rudy:

That's as generic of a boxing observation as someone can give:camby:

There's slight, subtle advantages that Broner would have and more glaring advantages Garcia would have, which is why Garcia would be my pick as of May 4th, 2014

no breh. that was the first time Roy fought like that from anytime I remember. he fought off the ropes a lot but used counters. that fight he didnt. he was visibly affected from the rapid weight loss. Tarver forced it on him like Maidana forced it on Floyd. the fights looked almost identical to me because Tarver wasnt landing a whole lot clean either....he was just pushing Roys glove to his face. people had never seen Roy attacked with such aggression before likewise with last night.

Broner is mostly all hype because of his shyt talking. But hey, put him in with Garcia. Better yet, he wants Pac Man, so give him that fight. :heh: No beef though, you still my nikka

The point of good defense is to stop you from taking a lot of damge or getting KTFO.. Floyds ring generalship was ass compared to most of his fights.. It wasn't until AFTER Maidana got winded in the second half did Floyd start to take control... If the Power shot looks like its landing to the judges who aren't watching from a TV screen zoomed in at High Def.. Then yea someone landing those type of shots(partial or not) can win.. Why do you think Floyd got two draw scores in his last two fights?

He should win.

Demolish?:dahell:

right. again. like @LauderdaleBoss said. paper vs ring. Swift dont fight in an aggressive style like that because that opens himself up to danger. its a good fight in my eyes. its not really as easy to be AB as people think. Paulie's hand speed was a problem for him but I said it would be before the fight. and Maidana is a tough nut. I would favor Swift but its a good fight.
