There will be two very intelligent, veteran boxers fighting that night but only one will have his hand raised in victory
It ain't gonna be Paulette tho
[/spoiler]
And look what has happened to Broner since Paulie
Paulie wins the Brooklyn Hardcore championship title
Broner gets beaten back down down to another weight class
Paulie picking up another title from Portner
Broner can't even get a Khan fight
Doesn't change the fact that Broner beat Paulette in "his" borough then left with his belt and his bytch
Paulie was bringing her around mom dukes while #BandCamp was passing her around in a cheap motel room
Broner beat Paulette into the Santino of boxing
And look what has happened to Broner since Paulie
Paulie wins the Brooklyn Hardcore championship title
Broner gets beaten back down down to another weight class
Paulie picking up another title from Portner
Broner can't even get a Khan fight
Paulie isn't the Santino of boxing friend, his next fight is a title fight.
Meanwhile Broner has to work his way back from boxing Bolivia where Maidana sent him first class.
As far as the "taking his girl" . As you see Paulie has moved on to bigger and better things.
I understand why you are dwelling on the past though, the present and future isn't looking too bright for #bandcamp
anybody going to floyd-maidana?
$370 for nosebleeds and 1500 for the mid section down. got damn he making pacquaio-bradley ticket prices look like the dollar menu.
Almost two months ago promoters Dan Goossen and Don King made a deal and avoided a purse bid for the rematch between Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola, the leading contenders to fight for the alphabet heavyweight world title that Vitali Klitschko vacated in order to turn his attention full-time to Ukrainian politics.
Goossen and King pledged to work together to generate the most money possible from the fight. But weeks went by and they were still missing the key ingredient, a television deal.
That search has come to an end. The fight will land on ESPN, multiple sources involved in the event told ESPN.com on Wednesday.
Yes, regular ESPN. Not ESPN2, home of “Friday Night Fights.” Not an Internet stream on ESPN3. The fight will air live on the big daddy, ESPN, on May 10, a Saturday night in prime time at 8 p.m. ET, along with at least one undercard bout to be determined.
Also to be determined is the venue, but the TV deal has been agreed to and it is significant for boxing that ESPN, which has televised the sport for the network's entire existence but not at the very top level, is involved. According to my sources, the network is paying good money for the fight, somewhere a little south of $500,000. When you consider that the typical license fee for “Friday Night Fights” is around $50,000 to $60,000, this is a big commitment from the network.
From what I understand, ESPN is hoping to put on three or four similar-level boxing events a year going forward. If that happens, it means another serious player in American televised boxing.
When Stiverne and Arreola met in an April 2013 title eliminator, HBO televised the fight but it was not interested in the rematch. Showtime, from what I am told, had only lukewarm interest. Epix is out of boxing for the time being. ESPN made perfect sense and made a strong pitch to get the fight.
In the first fight, Stiverne (23-1, 20 KOs), 35, of Canada, broke Arreola’s nose on a knockdown in the third round and went on to win a decision. Stiverne was next supposed to fight Klitschko for his title, but after several delays in a purse bid for that fight, Klitschko retired. That left Arreola (36-3, 31 KOs), the next highest-ranked contender, to face Stiverne for the vacant belt.
Stiverne has not fought since beating Arreola, of Riverside, Calif., because of the delays in trying to make the fight with Klitschko. Arreola, however, rebounded to score an impressive first-round knockout of Seth Mitchell in September.
There had been reports that King had made a deal to bring the fight to Cancun, Mexico, on June 21, but those were inaccurate.
That is good shyt...hopefully this fight gets decent ratings so ESPN doesn't get cold feet about regularly airing boxing on the flagship network.
Arum is such a crusty old b*stard.but 50 really needs to get Gamboa in line with his wanting to make the same for the fight as Garcia. Garcia is seen as the hotter fighter now and Gamboa hasn't fought since that boring win over Perez last summer.Mikey, we’d like to get him back in action,” said Arum, whose Top Rank Inc. promotes Garcia. “There’s nothing but silence from HBO. Garcia-Gamboa is not going to happen because, frankly, who the f*** is Gamboa? Why should he be getting as much money as Garcia? He hasn’t fought on HBO. He f***ed me in the [Brandon] Rios fight. What kind of sh*t is this? What, 50 Cent singing songs? It’s not going to happen.”
