Ward has truly pimped the boxing game

Had his career guided beautifully by Goosen, who was able to take advantage of the fact that he was a "green" fighter that supposedly had no chance to win the SS6 tournament, so the other promoters involved just didn't seem to care & he got all his fights in the US

Won the super 6 & jumped to the bigger network

Got a nice HBO commentating gig so he still has income coming in between fights

Sits back at 168, waits, very meticulous, carefully picks his opponents. Any future opponent just needs to know that the fight will be at 168, in Oakland, with the ring size chosen by Team Ward.

Is currently suing the promoter who was instrumental in guiding his career, to get out of the contract, in search of a more powerful promoter

Has J Prince to watch his back if shiit goes down.

Looking to possibly start his own promotional company

Will most likely retire with health fully intact

The fact that this man knows how to play the game, along with being an elite fighter is gonna make him extremely hard to beat.

I feel this post is directed at me. What I'm about to post is all logic & common sense

Pascal has been fighting since he was 13 years old. He's a 31 year old man now. His habits are set. Your not gonna change what you've been doing for 17 years in a 8 week training camp.

Hopkins & Dawson are both better fighters than Bute. He's suppose to look better against Bute. His performance against an UNDEFEATED Dawson (a fight no one thought he was gonna win) was much more impressive.

Do I feel Roy added anything to Pascal's camp? Absolutely. I know there was an emphasis as far as having Pascal pace himself. I believe Roy gave him a lot of pointers as well. Polished him up. I believe most importantly he gave him more confidence than anything. I also know a lot of that shiit goes out the window as soon as your in there with a world class opponent. It's not like he has the luxury of being in an Amir Khan situation where he's "practicing" what he's learned against Diaz & Molina.

As a result, I don't see this HUGE difference that your seeing. As more training camps go by, perhaps in the future.
Now Bute is trash even though it was a 50-50 bout going in......... hindsight is always 20/20 but I hear you. However, those intangibles (polishing, pointers, confidence) can turn a B fighter to an A fighter, maybe even an Elite fighter. That's why I feel trainers get disrespected way too heavily on here, like what they do is only minimal, naw that's horse manure. That's what great trainers do, turn shyt into sugar.

And J Prince watching Ward's back? You must not know J. Prince, he's a snake like the rest of em.........

Vitali might need to get himself inside and off the streets before he find himself injured or worse. I love the fact that he's trying to keep the peace, but it only seems to be getting worse over there:to:

Robert Garcia: Maidana deserved a shot at Mayweather after win over Broner
By Jeff Sorby | Published January 20, 2014 | Leave a comment

Trainer Robert Garcia feels that his fighter WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana should have been in the running for a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. following his win over Adrien Broner last December. But instead of getting a potential chance against Mayweather in what would have been a career high payday for the Argentinian fighter, Maidana is now pretty much locked into a rematch with Broner after Broner invoked his rematch clause in his contract with Maidana.
“We thought by beating Broner and doing it the way we did, we definitely earned the shot at Mayweather,” Garcia said to the
Boxing Channel. “For whatever reason it looks like they’re going to go with Amir Khan, and we’re going to have to wait and wait, because what if he changes his mind and fights someone else?

Broner is the one calling for the rematch and Richard Schaefer [of Golden Boy Promotions] has a couple of dates to try and put that fight together. Marcos not happy and he feels like they’re not giving him a fair shake. He thinks he doesn’t need to fight Broner. Broner needs to fight somebody else before he gets another shot. He feels he deserves to fight Mayweather. It might be too soon for Broner to be fighting Maidana.”

It does seem like a really bad deal for Maidana that he’s not able to be available for the Mayweather fight. But he could also vacate his WBA title, but then Mayweather still might choose Khan to fight and Maidana then wouldn’t have his WBA strap any longer.

The World Boxing Association needs to create a rule to where champions who lose their titles and have a rematch clause, they should have to fight at least once in between getting their rematch, because it’s not fair to the contenders who are waiting for a title shot. It’s also not fair to the guy that wins the title. They’re stuck with an obligatory rematch. You don’t see this kind of thing in the most popular sports in the U.S like football and basketball.

Mayweather will still need an opponent for September and it’s a possibility that Maidana might get a shot then if he wins his rematch with Broner, and Mayweather wins his likely fight against Khan on May 3rd.

Damn the Maidana Camp is filled with crybabies:to:

:heh:

They acting like it's unusual for a Champion to lose his belt and invoke their rematch clause to try and regain their belt:snoop:

Welp, too bad Chino.........no "Mayweather Sweepstakes" for you:umad::russ:

Real talk though, it is kinda messed up that he beat AB clearly and is being forced back into a rematch when he could be fighting Floyd, but hey.....that's how the fight game goes. He shouldn't have signed the contract stipulating that if he wins, AB can invoke an immediate rematch:manny:

Here ya go:

Schaefer admits he was mistaken when he stated, following the fight last month, that a rematch clause did not exist.

"The matchmakers put together the contract. I thought there was no rematch clause, but then afterwards [the matchmakers] are telling me 'no, there is a rematch clause.' It was a voluntary defense. There was a rematch clause. Broner exercised it today and said he wants to fight Maidana again," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com
