What "business" does Gary Russell Jr. bring to the table? What card has he headlined, hell when's the last time he was on TV? What would a win over Gary fukking Russell do for any top featherweight's legacy right now? Why are ya'll ignoring point #1? Why are ya'll trying to legitimize "hands of glass" as a serious threat when there's guys like Ponce, Caballero, Castellanos, JuanMa and even fukking Billy Dib who've done a whole helluva lot more?

Spare me the "eye test" nonsense. I did a eye test too, my eyes told me Gary Russell looks like superman against humans, try fighting other superheroes :camby:

Ya'll bout to MAKE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, switch ya'll avatars with Tuaminator's "special" pics :merchant:

When has there ever been a downside to exposing a hype job by brutal KO? If a Russel fight were to happen, there's a good chance of him stopping that kid. I mean if you confident in the fighter you stan why wouldn't you want to see that happen?
:russ: at you bringing up JuanMa as a better alternative. Dude is finished and prolly hasn't recovered from the beating Garica put on him. Dib just got his ass whipped too.. C'mon breh :what: really?

I'll give you Ponce since it avenges a defeat.

Because at this moment the details are too sketchy to say who, when and at what weight Gawdzalez's next bout will be. Nobody knows what's going on with Mares, how the WBC can make a ruling right now makes no sense. GBP are just trying to make a fight, they may or may not know what's going on, but Jhonny and his people are out of the loop. Again, if Mares is out indefinitely, Jhonny won't be sticking around Featherweight, he's moving up, he's said this multiple times now

Gary Russell Jr. being a hype job exposed is beneficial ONLY if it's by someone on his level or lower. Jhonny is the #1 Featherweight in the world, come on now........

This ain't Broner, Broner was a champion at three different weight classes before he lost and has W's over fighters like Malignaggi, DeMarco, DeLeon. Gary Russell Jr. has wins over............not even decent competition, he's still an up and comer and all of a sudden he gets a shot at the throne? He's a hype-job with no real hype around him except scattered around on the internet here and there and that herb Max Kellerman

JuanMa and Dib have at least held championships, at least fought top guys, at least headlined shows on major networks........ they bring at least SOMETHING to the table there, even if it's not much. Russell brings nothing. I'm rooting for him to make a come up and put those brittle hands to better use, but he brings nothing to the table against the #1 fighter at 126.

Roy BEAT Bernard Hopkins while they were both in their prime. If you're agreeing that if there was no Floyd Mayweather, that Hopkins would be the "new Mayweather", why did he get schooled by Roy Jones Jr so effortlessly?

That there ALONE throws out any argument for Hopkins over RJJ breh:heh:

Plus Hopkins struggled with bums like Mercando and Allen in their 1st fights as well. Roy never struggled with anyone until he dropped all that weight and fought Antonio Tarver.

Bottomline is Roy Jones Jr beating a Prime Bernard Hopkins is better than ANY victory Hopkins has on his resume, being that Bernard Hopkins, apparently, would be the new Mayweather:russ::what:
Roy beating Hopkins isn't even a top 5 on Roy's own resume, how is it better than anything on Hopkins' resume? Bernard got better with time, he was a bit green though very determined and highly skilled, but still a bit green. Hopkins is a late bloomer, he reached his prime when the box fade left :russ:

:snoop: at the myth of Hopkins being some green wet behind the ears prospect for the 1st RJJ still being kept alive well into 2014.

By the time it's 2032, nikkas gon be saying that it was Hopkin's 3rd bout outta prison. No hate either, it's just that nikkas will forever try to downplay that win for Roy.

No comment about Roy cheating huh :camby:

Bhop had not yet entered his prime in that fight imo and the same argument can be made about his victory over Roy. :camby:

I didn't say he was the new Floyd I said if Floyd wasn't around BHop would be the best fighter of this era.

Bernard Hopkins was 28 years old and 22-1 going into that fight. RJJ was only 24 years old and 21-0 at that time.

AND Roy beat him with a broken right hand:dead:

It seems sometimes that Hopkins "conveniently" entered his prime when he fought Tito, so I wonder why isnt it as convenient to say RJJ was no longer in his prime after 50 fights and dropping 25+ lbs to fight Antonio Tarver?:manny:

I just cant see a prime RJJ losing to prime B-Hop. Unfortunately, we never got that prime fight again because B-Hop ducked the rematch for years:snoop:

Maidana Won't Be Ready, Broner II To Get Pushed Back

By Rick Reeno

Sebastian Contursi, manager of WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31KOs), informed BoxingScene.com that his fighter will be unable to face Adrien Broner (27-1, 22KOs) on a date in April.

Last month in San Antonio, Maidana scored the biggest victory of his career with a twelve round unanimous decision over Broner at the Alamodome.

Broner recently exercised his contractual option for an immediate rematch. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer was looking to stage the Showtime televised fight on April 19 at the Alamodome or April 26 in Los Angeles.

However, Maidana will not have enough time to properly train, says Contursi. And, Maidana's girlfriend is expecting the birth of their daughter in mid-March, which prevents the Argentine boxer from traveling over to the United States to prepare with trainer Robert Garcia in Oxnard, California.

Contursi has already informed Al Haymon, who advises both Broner and Maidana.

"We just had an approaching telephone conversation with Al Haymon and I've let him know that April is too early. We don't know about Broner, but Maidana usually needs six weeks to rest and ten weeks for training camp, so there is not enough time to rest and train properly for a major fight in April. On top of that, Maidana spent half of last year away from home training and his girlfriend is pregnant and expects for mid-March, so he wants to be present for his baby girl's birth. Those are the reasons," Contursi told BoxingScene.com.

:what:

They aint even talking about discussing dates for the future though. This is an OBVIOUS duck like I said he would do:heh:

I thought Maidana said would be ready to fight on Floyd on May 3rd......but now, since he has to take the rematch against AB, he's unable to fight a WEEK earlier on April 26th because he wont have enough time to train or see his baby born? But, he would have enough time for May 3rd:russ:

nikka, if you scared say you scared and give us back the belt:ufdup:

Look at Maidana yall:dead:
