“The Pittsburgh Kid,” undefeated former world champion Paul Spadafora (48-0-1, 19 KOs) will likely take on Johan “El Terrible” Perez (17-1-1, 12 KOs) on November 30th for the WBA’s interim championship at welterweight. The fight will top a Golden Boy Promotions card at the Mountaineer Casino in Chester, West Virginia, site of Spadafora’s last three outings. No TV details announced yet.
There is speculation that fight could lead to Golden Boy Promotions bringing Spadafora into the fold as a possible undefeated opponent for Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Several years ago there was a sparring session between Spadafora and Mayweather in which Spadafora got the better of it. Also Spadafora’s undefeated streak is longer than Floyd’s, so there are multiple story lines.
its funny because I was thinking about this....the only thing is, Spady waited too long to get back in the picture...he needs a high profile win.
also....I saw that sparring session with Floyd. think it was his first day back in the gym...and this is when he was fighting at a lower weight and wasnt really in top fighting form.
that sparring session means absolutely shyt.
