“The Pittsburgh Kid,” undefeated former world champion Paul Spadafora (48-0-1, 19 KOs) will likely take on Johan “El Terrible” Perez (17-1-1, 12 KOs) on November 30th for the WBA’s interim championship at welterweight. The fight will top a Golden Boy Promotions card at the Mountaineer Casino in Chester, West Virginia, site of Spadafora’s last three outings. No TV details announced yet.

There is speculation that fight could lead to Golden Boy Promotions bringing Spadafora into the fold as a possible undefeated opponent for Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Several years ago there was a sparring session between Spadafora and Mayweather in which Spadafora got the better of it. Also Spadafora’s undefeated streak is longer than Floyd’s, so there are multiple story lines.

its funny because I was thinking about this....the only thing is, Spady waited too long to get back in the picture...he needs a high profile win. also....I saw that sparring session with Floyd. :usure: think it was his first day back in the gym...and this is when he was fighting at a lower weight and wasnt really in top fighting form.
that sparring session means absolutely shyt.
:comeon:

how the fuk is spaddy getting a wba interim title shot? :wtf: i like spaddy and all but he aint even top 10 let alone top 15 at 147 in any rankings. the only thing spaddy got going for him is that that undefeated record and that sparring footage with floyd. i got the feeling golden boy is trying to push a broner or even thurman vs spaddy fight in the future if he wins.

Mikey fought Danny in the Amateurs :leon:

Brandon Rios' first words as a baby had to be "Motherf*cker* :heh:

Man, in 2 yrs I'd love to see The Battle of the Garcias!!! :whew: . Golden Boy, Top Rank, HBO, & Showtime really need to figure out their sh*t quick because I don't think this "In House" sh*t is gonna hold up that long with so many fights on the horizon that as of right now can't be made.

Funny, I was just thinking about Mikey Garcia. I am all aboard the hype train with him. If he continues to stay at 130 and 135 for the next several years, he could go on a Floyd or Mosley run at those weight classes. I don't think there is a single fighter at that weight that can mess with him and he should be the next fighter to start creeping up those P4P lists.

This inside house rift is a cancer to boxing and careers.
It is amazing at how unorganized and fukked up boxing is. In a day and age where the NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA seem to be operated like well oiled machines boxing is a fukking joke...luckily the sport has so much talent and good matchups.
The fact that there is no universal organizing body - these individual ones with their own agendas and ties
As far as we know the amount of training, grading, and expectations upon referees and judges is a joke compared to those previously mentioned leagues.
Promoters being able to control much of the sport - through fighters, TV, boxing organizations, and promotion - without having any set standards or universal organizing body to follow.

When you think about it, it is amazing that boxing is as healthy as it is. Other than the fighters themselves, the trainers, and some good TV support, everything else is absolute joke status. It literally is like the Wild Wild West, you make the rules up as you go along.

Gamboa has looked like :trash: his last two fights....honestly I forgot all about him:heh:

That's still a very big win for Mikey at this point. Gamboa though has wasted (whether his fault or not) the majority of his prime years. I forget he's already over 30.

Gamboa was obviously going through the motions in his last couple fights. I still think he's a great fighter, but he needs a dance partner.

Juanma shoulda been that guy, but fukkboy Aurm dropped the ball on that. He's lost alot of momentum since Top Rank's smear campaign.

His career has been disappointing/underwhelmking/wasted to say the least
