I dont even think a casual fan would think that. THey couldnt name the nikka he was fighting. HBO overhyped him...but what else is new? He was supposed to have next and he did get a bogus title...but were the press still saying he was all that? I am sorry, I dont recall. He got the mention that an Olympian and champion that they were trying to hype shouldve gotten. He never got to a defining fight...so I fail to see where he was overrated. He was overhyped...but again....what else is new.
Anybody who is basically given a title and touted as a possible threat to someone like Floyd but then goes life and death with Ortiz and Guerrero is someone I would call overrated.

not about when enough is enough...this aint about Berto, couldve been Willie Lump Lump..its about the ref....boxing has fukking rules for a reason. use them shyts.
So do you want to see Berto die in the ring, he couldnt even fight back coherently with one arm, enough was enough. Any a Berto apologist would say otherwise.

Shaky stoppages are Pacquaio Cotto, LM vs Ajose, Rios Alvarado, and such this was a prolonged noncompetitive one sided ass whipping

Berto was just as much a threat to Floyd as Canelo....I dont remember anyone picking him to beat Floyd though...thats different. Do you think Canelo is overrated? And some fools are picking him to win. Not saying he wont, he has a chance...but smart money is on Floyd because if Canelo was even money and he gets that work....that is what you call overrated. Just wait...in another couple of years after 3 or 4 losses...lets revisit this thread and see how many nikkas now is gonna be calling Canelo a bum then.

@patscorpio said no 8 count was needed for Cotto....you say the stoppage was shaky. see the difference in opinion? I dont care either way....my argument is to count.

Yeah I think Canelo is overrated. I think their are a few fighters other than Floyd who could beat him and I don't think he is worthy of the praise. But I do think he is a pretty good fighter though and better than Berto. If you are called the next great champion at any point and time and fail to reach those expectations that is what I call overrated.

Ok, this aint the barbershop..so when u spit it u gotta spit the whole shyt. Berto WAS next because the WW division was devoid of anything. Floyd had retired and relinquished the belt. Haymon and HBO had to have somebody to hype. There was no sense in matching him with another Haymon fighter in the Punisher...why do you think Paul never fought at WW again after that year? The WW division was run by TR. There was only Cotto, Marg, and Pac who had just came there to fight Oscar. The only guy that found a way in was Shane but even he was fighting Mayorga at 154 and had just lost to Cotto! There was no Bradley or no Marquez...but they are TR so that wouldnt matter anyway. Even the guys he lost to...Guerrero and Ortiz had not gotten to WW yet. He was overhyped and there was a very good business reason as to why. But check this out....Berto is soooooooo overhyped right? He is soooooooo overrated right? Yet he lost to 2 guys that Floyd got criticism for facing. Doesnt say much for Floyd. Like Marlo said on The Wire...you want it one way...but its the other way.

dont see how. cuz he beat Trout? INSIDE THE RING styles make fights not names. thats not to say Berto was fukkin with Floyd but the fact remains....Floyd aint fighting no fast fighters...only Zab. if there was ever hype, its Canelo. because he beat Trout in a fight Trout couldve won...and Trout beat a past prime Cotto is circumstantial and you can say anything in hindsight. Ginger is a bigger name and a bigger guy...thats it.

Once again...PW beating Winky and Sergio is MUCH better than anything Canelo has ever done. Yet nikkas was flip flopping from when he lost to Quintana til after, saying he was Floyd's biggest threat...then after the Lara fight yallz like....see, he was never a threat to Floyd.

and thats my point...very few are worthy of the praise heaped upon them. I am not going to say I didnt think Berto could or couldnt be great....I didnt know. What I am saying is.....I just dont hype guys too much until I see them do something. I never saw Berto do anything impressive as far as his wins so I had no reason to hype him. If others did, shame on them.

PHILADELPHIA —On Saturday September 7th, former U.S. Olympian and undefeated Demetrius Andrade will vie for his first world championship, when he takes on fellow former U.S. Olympian Vanes Martirosyan in a twelve round bout from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

The bout, which will be televised live on HBO Championship Boxing, will be the co-feature to the Super Middleweight clash between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Bryan Vera. Demetrius Andrade of Providence, Rhode Island was a former world amateur champion and has a perfect professional mark of 19-0 with thirteen knockouts and is currently the number two contender for the WBO belt.

Vanes Martiroysan of Glendale, California is 33-0-1 with 21 knockouts.

Andrade, who is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Star Boxing, was scheduled to contend for the belt on July 6th but an injury to then-champion Zaurbek Baysangurov forced the title to become vacant, thus setting up this showdown of undefeated former Olympians.

“I am looking forward to this fight and have been waiting for this fight ever since I walked into the gym at age 7”, said Andrade.

“I always wanted to be champion of the world and on September 7th I will be crowned champion. I wanted to win an Olympic gold medal and since they took that from me, I am going to take this world title.”

“I was a 2008 Olympian and he made it in 2004. I will show him that if I was around in 2003 and 2004, he would not have made the team”, finished Andrade.“This will be an outstanding fight and we worked hard on getting this fight on HBO”, said Banner Promotions CEO Arthur Pelullo.

“We feel that Demetrius has all the talent to become a star in this sport and only needed the opportunity on this kind of stage and on September 7th he will get that chance. I want to thank my partner Joe DeGuardia, HBO, Top Rank and the WBO for making this great fight. I have a feeling that after September 7th, not only will Demetrius be a world champion but he will be a household name and in line for even bigger fights.”

Canelo beat the #2 guy in Trout an undefeated fighter errybody said he'd duck

Canelo is the top guy at 154

Has Berto ever accomplished those things?? At his weight??:childplease:

Styles makes fights Berto has horrible reflexes N trex arms N suspect chin, gets hurt lays on the ropes N gets pummelled some more

Canelo has better power, better defense, throws combos, has a better chin, fights smarter, is bigger N stronger

How tf is/was Berto ever the same threat as Canelo:dahell:

N i have no clue why tf you brought up Pwill stay on topic breh:dead:
