notice how the ref counted til 9...and there was no way this nikka was even gettin up!
Berto got his ass beat breh the ref did him a favor, what his trainer should have been did, just stop

Kenny Bayless...one of the best in the business.
did him a favor? by not giving hiim an 8 count and then stopping it? like he was gonna die in those 8 seconds while he was counting. if thats the case why he didnt wave in for the doc to get his ass in the ring right then? all the fights I just posted have 2 things in common. one they were stopped...so I am not arguing stoppages. two they were full counts..which I advocate for.
see, u nikkas funny style...quick to claim boxing is fixed and people getting paid off but dont want to remove subjectivity so it clears all doubt. when a football player gets injured he has to come out for 1 play. that removes subjectivity. in boxing...you remove it by administering a count.....unless the fighter is![]()
Dude was trying to save Khans ass gave him so much time between knockdowns![]()

Berto got a prolonged ass whipping for 12 rounds, had one arm, mouth all bloodied from a probable broken nose or cracked jaw, when is enough enough. He got his ass beat he doesnt deserve a moral victory for getting a 8 count; had the ref gave a 8 count he might have been tempted to letting the onslaught continue. The ref did the right thing he took a massive ass whipping in 11th, and got dropped in 12, one more punch with no foundation and it might of truly fukked up his career going forthso you question his integrity? then whats the excuse for Trinidad-Joppy? you cant just apply it to one fight and not the other. had Mercante waived that shyt off nobody wouldve complained..they wouldve said the nikka couldnt even stand up without falling down.
i understand what you're saying...a lot of these ref stoppages are subjective...but with berto he had been wobbled several times during the fight..his face was lumped and bloody and he had a fukked up shoulder..he had taken enough of a beating..the same way i felt for example when cotto was stopped in the last round against pacquiao and there was no standing 8 or anything
He was overrated when the boxing press hyped him up to have next in the welterweight division and by being handed easy matchups on the way to a title. That is why I called him overrated. The real boxing fan wouldn't consider him elite but a person who saw him with belts and beating up bums would make the assumption that he was elite.question is...who here considered him elite? nikkas get too excited then say someone was overrated when they are the one that rated him that way in the first place. beating Mickey Rodriguez for a vacant belt dont make you elite. going the distance with Urango who Alexander stopped dont make you elite either. Devon is not even an elite fighter. I want to know which one of you nikkas really thought Berto was an elite fighter?![]()
and the coup de grace Arthur Mercante Jr.
those last 2 KD's he tried to get up and fell both times...still Mercante gave him counts. Again...not at one time did I say the Berto fight should not have been stopped. I just dont see why you dont count....
Shorley is not a bad ref, dont get me wrong not crucifying him....but clearly not on the elite level as Mercante Jr., Smoger, Bayless, Cortez. referees are no different than other athletes when it comes to pay separation. those refs get paid big bucks....sometimes $50k to ref a fight. why? because they dont panic and they follow the rules to the highest order of officiating.

Stop bytching nikka![]()
