TR always has trash undercards..... N I don't think they got the roster to make a decent one anymore

Besides Rigo who can TR put on an undercard??

Mike Jones
Rocky Martinez
Vasquez
:scusthov:

TR won't be putting Donaire, JCCjr, Alvarado, Rios etc on undercards

Well Chavez Jr is gonna be on the Marquez-Bradley undercard. A fight theyre discussing is Crawford-Gamboa. Personally cant wait for that. It should be Crawfords coming out party. I feel like Broner-Crawford could be like a Jones-Hopkins 1 type bout.

chavez jr-vera isn't on an undercard..its the main event of its own card..the only confirmed undercard bout for jmm-bradley is Orlando salido-orlando cruz for the vacant wbo featherweight title

Floyd had a third option... to be the bigger more honorable man and touch gloves once more then square up and not rob 1.2 million viewers of a fight by haymakering a nikka trying to touch gloves... if Floydie was that upset about the butt he woulda never touched gloves at all afterwards... it was a bytch move...

hey, maybe so...but if a nikka hit me in my face...the last thing I am gonna do is look over at the ref. if he hits him in the nuts thats different. Ortiz could learn a lot from Bernard Hopkins in the ring. If you are going to be dirty...dont cry foul (especially when no foul was committed :pachaha:). Ortiz would never survive in Philly gyms. Kansas sparring partners there to get a check and go back to their day jobs in construction. Philly nikkas...or them nikkas in Detroit or somewhere??? they gon give you that work...that shyt is like recess when u in the streets worried bout the next nikka tryna bang u.

:dahell:

Chavez Jr fights Sept 7th at Staples...he's a draw no chance in hell he's on anybody's undercard breh

Top Rank ain't deep enough right now N they fighters they have like Mikey Garcia, Alvarado etc...nikkas that would improve their undercards...they have to save for Boxing After Dark

So we end up getting
Salido vs Fruity Pants
Jesse Vargas vs TBA
Rocky Martinez vs Random Mexican

Article Link - Anthony Dirrell Returns July 27 Against Hanshaw on TV
This is a legal waiver. By copying and using the material from this article, you agree to give full credit to BoxingScene.com or provide a link to the original article.

Super middleweight prospect Anthony Dirrell will face Anthony Hanshaw on the Showtime Extreme undercard to July 27’s bout between Andre Berto vs. Jesus Soto Karass, according to The Flint Journal, the Michigan newspaper in Dirrell’s hometown.

This is only Dirrell’s second fight back since a May 2012 motorcycle crash. He also spent nearly two years out of the sport between 2006 and 2008 while battling lymphoma. His comeback began in May, when he took an eight-round decision over Don Mouton. The 28-year-old is 25-0 with 21 knockouts.

Hanshaw is a faded former prospect who probably reached his pinnacle in 2007 in the finals of a Showtime tournament involving 168-pound prospects. Hanshaw fought to a draw with Jean-Paul Mendy in the finale, then followed that up with a loss to Roy Jones Jr. six months later.

Hanshaw has also faced Anthony’s older brother, Andre, losing a fifth-round stoppage in May 2008. His last appearance was in June of this year, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Farah Ennis. The loss brought the 35-year-old’s record to 23-3-2 with 14 knockouts.

I really hope Anthony Dirrell stays on path..dude is really talented..he's fast and can punch...more solid than his brother Andre...he can be a problem at 168

pretty much the only way rigo will get a chance is to adopt a foolhardy, exciting style like Bradley did against Provodnikov...stupid fight as it was and prolly shaved years off his career now Bradley is getting a high profile PPV fight with JMM

Quoted for truth. This is exactly what Rigo, Zahir Raheem and all of the other "boring" fighters will have to do to make it to the next level (HBO main events, and/ or PPVs).

We all know their styles are bringing anyone to the TV sets to watch them. (And before anyone says Floyd is too defensive, he can be, but he will mix it up when needed. Also, he PROMOTES the hell of the fights beforehand, so that makes people want to watch). Rigo is a great fighter, might be top 15-20 in the world right now, but who in here would pony up $500, $1,000+ for a ringside seat to watch him fight "defensively"? What arenas will Rigo fill? Who would pay $60 to see Rigo headline a PPV?

And for the dude who said that HBO should have him on undercards to unify belts, he isnt gonna make any money doing that. Why would HBO have a World Champ at his asking price on an undercard? They would still have to pay the headline fight big money, so they would lose $$ every time Rigo fought. Makes NO business sense. What kind of champ are you if you can't headline cards?

Bottom line, I personally like watching Rigo fight, but I agree with HBO on this, and it's not Arum fault (and I hate that dude with a passion). Styles make fights, and brawls bring eyes to TV sets, period. Rigo has 2 options: open up his style for more offense more often (like Bradley did, and got a PPV spot), or keep being an opponent. He is thisclose to becoming this decades Winky Wright.

random blurb...

why is Haye vs Fury considered a superfight (even if in Britain)? It will only be Haye's 3rd fight in more than 3 years, one of which was a less than spirited effort in a loss. Fury...well, he pretty much sucks.

I dont agree that Bradley almost getting KOed got him a PPV date. He really wasnt exciting before he got the Pac fight. Fact is....WHOEVER is under TR, they eventually have to match them up or let them go. They have stars and then quasi-stars who are basically the next meal. It is TR's fault...absolutely. If they work hard enough, they can get Rigo some fights. If not, Rigo should just title up and try and force some purse bids. Basically, from all this fallout from the Donaire fight...its easy to see now that Arum was hoping Donaire would KTFO Rigo. Had he KNOWN Donaire was gonna lose...he'd never made the fight in the first place.

fukk changing my style to get a fight because if he loses then what? HBO really will have no use for him. Remember when Vernon Forrest tried to bang out with Mayorga? Then lost the rematch? HBO tore up his contract....but Vernon was fighting the toughest guy in the division...and the fights were pretty exciting.

lets put it this way breh...if Bradley fought the usual way against ruslan and it was unspectacular do you think he would have gotten a PPV date? nikkas are interested in this because they want to see if Bradley is going to catch wreck again and/or if he lost something after that beating Ruslan laid on him...I know those are the only reasons why I care about this fight since im no Bradley fan

I appreciate someone who understands what business is about. Bottom line is, Rigo is a great fighter, no doubt, but he fights an amateur style to win fights. He wants to do that, fine. But amateur fighters can't command professional money and TV time. He is gonna have to choose what he wants. IMO, Rigo can still eat good holding titles, and boxing dudes' heads off. He wont be seeing big paper though.

Yea youre right, I misread the article.

I feel like TR HAS to know that if they want to stay afloat and competitive, theyre gonna have to start stacking undercards. Or else TR as we know it will be :deadmanny:

I honestly think he would. I dont think it mattered AT ALL as far as him fighting on a PPV against JMM. One, Arum has PPV dates that he has to book. Two, Bradley didnt have to fight Prov...it was supposed to be a tune up basically. They were gonna fight off the strength that they both hold a win over :flabbymanny:

now to sort of agree with you...his fight with Prov generated more interest with hardcore fans like us here....I still am not really that pumped about it....I mean its a good fight but I look forward to the FMJ-Canelo more.
Bradley did himself and the PPV favors with his previous fight...but Arum is gonna make those PPVs with his biggest guys regardless.

Breh, nobody preaches about business and marketability on here more than I do. I am not arguing Rigo's perils...I just disagree with anybody who thinks this aint on TR and that Rigo wouldnt do better elsewhere or as an independent.

I dont know if Rigo is begging HBO for x-amount of money or dates. Maybe he is content with what he makes. I am just saying its the promoters job to promote...if not, then they should let you go if you are un-promotable. Come on man, they knew his marketability when they signed him...they just thought dude was food for Donaire and they were mistaken. Now Rigo in between a rock and a hard place because he won a fight that he shouldnt have. Now you have his promoter making fukked up media statements and quotes about his fighting style...man...aint no promoter supposed to be engaging no counter-productive fukkery like that.

Now you talk about a guy with a fan friendly style...not sure how well it will serve him. He cant fight the way he fights against better punchers...he's gonna get put to sleep. Still, love his fighting style.
