The Punisher did duck the Lara rematch, but I think it had more to do with him almost losing that fight to someone nobody else would fight bc of the risk/reward combined with the frustrations of he HIMSELF being ducked by Floyd and Sergio ducking a 3rd fight.

Another thing, people saying Canelo is protected and didnt wanna fight anybody.....lets not forget instead of Josesito Lopez, that Canelo was trying to and offered the fight to James Kirkland (who turned it down), Paul Williams (motorcycle accident), and Victor Ortiz (TKOd by Lopez).

Props to PW for taking the Lara fight in the first place. He just has to realize once he says someone is ducking, he opens himself up to the same scrutiny. He gave Quintana a rematch, why? One, he was absolutely sure he could beat Quintana in a rematch and two, he wanted the belt back. Neither of those applied to Lara therefore he ducked. I gave him a pass for ducking Lara because he really did fight everyone, but when it came down to him getting back to the big fights or risking an L to Lara in a rematch, we see what path he took.

Canelo is protected. Those circumstances happened exactly as you stated but I dont think any of those fights would excuse him from the notion of being protected. Kirkland, big puncher, big heart, but no boxing ability, weak chinned, and poor defense. Ortiz...he quit at 140 and 147....I am sure they felt they could make him quit at 154. PW had been exposed two fights in a row for being a sucker for an overhand right. Canelo would be favored over all of them. Trout was a better fight, but now that he beat Trout, he shouldnt get much of a pass for regressing in opposition talent level.

But no doubt his resume would look cleaner with Paul Williams and Austin Trout name on it at 22 years old

You're putting that Ortiz quit shyt at 147 out there to make it sound like he's just some flat out heartless coward. I'll give you the L against Maidana but Lopez broke his jaw and kept hitting him in that muhfukka. Lol. So that lost doesn't look as bad as you think.

Now that is an unfortunate chain of events for Canelo becuz before Victor lost those two straight he had won 3 or 4 straight with a draw to Lamont Peterson in there. So having victor on Canelo's list doesn't look as bad as some would think.

According to arrest records, unbeaten heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder was arrested May 4th in Las Vegas and released on $15,000 bail. The charge: one count of domestic battery by strangulation.

Floyd vs Provodnikov:dwillhuh:

Freddie Roach - "I've heard around town that Mayweather might want Ruslan as his next opponent, on September fourteenth," Roach told me. "That would be a hard fight to turn down. Against Floyd, I think Ruslan would have a puncher's chance. It would be a big payday, and he's got his family to take care of for the rest of his life."

Roach said Team Provodnikov, which includes promoter Art Pellulo, would be mulling options. He said that Top Rank does have options on Provodnikov, stemming from the Bradley fight, but thinks that a deal could be worked out between all parties if things progress, and Floyd decides Provodnikov is a good dance partner.

I like the Mayweather-Garcia match. I know its not popular but I dont think it is quite the optimal time for Floyd-Canelo. I think next May would be perfect. In the meantime, Danny is a better option than anyone else who isnt already tied up with other obligations.

Garcias getting the winner of Peterson/Matthyse.

Anybody but Alexander is how I feel about the whole thing. :upsetfavre:

He actually has better than shown boxing ability, but he refuses to use it.

I don't understand this either. His footwork was the reason he won his first fight vs alvorado and none of that was their in number 2
manny gonna rock his snot box
