Chavez Jr calling out Murray for a fight in August possibly for the interim WBC belt
Once Sergio is ready to fight again he goin have some problems waiting for him that he don't want
The biggest fight to ever take place between Canadian boxers will have to wait.
It was announced on Tuesday that Lucian Bute will need surgery on his hand, forcing a postponement of a scheduled May 25 light heavyweight bout at Bell Centre against Laval native Jean Pascal.
A spokesman for Bute's promoter InterBox said Tuesday the southpaw will need surgery this week to remove bone fragments from his left hand. The injury occurred during training in Florida.
A makeup date has yet to be determined, he said.
A full house was expected at the 21,273-seat Bell Centre to see a showdown between Bute (31-1-0) and Pascal (27-2-1), two local fighters who are former world champions.
The Bute-Pascal bout was getting considerable buzz south of the border, with HBO planning to broadcast it as part of a doubleheader with a fight taking place between Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler.
Bute, 33, made nine successful defences of the 168-pound International Boxing Federation title, but lost his unbeaten mark in one-sided fashion in 2012 in England against Froch. Bute got back in the win column with a tough decision win over Denis Grachev in November.
The postponement represents more delay for Pascal, who has fought just once since losing his World Boxing Council light heavyweight belt to Bernard Hopkins in May 2011. Upon hearing of the Bute injury, Pascal tweeted to Hopkins about the prospect of a third fight between the two fighters, although that seems unlikely.
So Brian Vera is out?
Chavez Jr wants a tougher challenge.... since many believed Murray won N with Sergio being out, Chavez wants in on that interim Championship
They almost fought before but dudes visa was fukked up cuz of his criminal record
Ok, I was wrong. He did say it.
Anyway...when I say this talk is nonsense....I mean everyone can be accused of it. You can pick anybody damn near and say they ducked somebody.
I am a Paul Williams fan, but he lost to Lara, worse than Roy lost to Tarver the first fight if you think Roy indeed lost (I believe Roy won). Roy gave Tarver an immediate rematch when he didnt have to give him the first fight. Certainly Roy had more lucrative opportunites on the table. Was fighting Ishida in Texas, (a light puncher who had no title) a more lucrative opportunity than a Lara return match?
Here's what PW had to say about a Lara rematch...
"I ain't got no reason to fight him," Williams said.
"He ain't got no fame and glory. All he got was me having a bad night. That was about it. If he gets a title or something, or gets some clout up under his name, then I'll definitely go check him again."
Basically what that is saying is...for me to fight you again, it has to be for something I want and it has to be worth my time. The same thing Floyd says.
Nevertheless  that my friend....is a
Didn't Ward call out Jr.? Why isn't he jumping at that fight? Afraid to fight people his own size?
