Spence vs Crawford would be the biggest fight in either guys career and the biggest possible payday excluding a Manny fight.
After Wilder/Fury II I have no doubt Fox/ESPN could flood their marketing and get hype going for the match.
Crawford PPV buys have been trash but so have his dance partners, he still had 1.5mil view and 2mil views on his recent ESPN fights and was on First Take heavy. This idea no one knows who he is is a reach. I think ppl just ain't willing to pay $75 for fights they don't care about
Neither dude is a "star" in the Floyd or Manny vein imo. Wilder wasn't even a star numbers wise despite his profile as a HW with high KO % foreal foreal.
so I think it's unfair to hold black american fighters to a super high standard given that context. Even with all that at their current levels I don't think 500k+ buys is a crazy expectation with guaranteed purses over $10 mil each

I agree, you're not understanding what I'm saying. For us hardcore fans yeah it's a dream fight, to not so hardcore fans they don't care. Spence barely is breaking into being a star(which is why he wants to fight Danny and Manny first to build his profile), and Crawford isn't a star at all.

It doesn't make 'sense', because it won't make the type of money it could possibly make. I hate to say it, but if we talking money Spence has the right idea of it. His original plan was to face Thurman(who already had a name built up) for a mega fight, but with Thurman basically falling off a cliff now people are saying Crawford, yet Crawford has done nothing to build the fight up and make it a mega fight.

If anything the WBO needs to actually force Crawford to fight his mandatories to build a profile. In order the WBo contenders are
1. Danny Garcia
2. Vergil Ortiz Jr
3. Mikey Garcia
4. Maurice Hooker
5. Regis Prograis

Bud could fight two names off that list and finally build a profile, but we know Bob won't do it cause he is protecting him until he cashes him out and discards him like he did to Manny before him and like he was trying to do to Floyd, Oscar, Mikey, etc.

Think you underestimate Crawford's profile a bit, or overestimate Thurman's. Bud is a bigger name than Thurman, more people know who he is. Same with Porter, more people know Crawford. You can make an argument for Danny Garcia or Spence being more known than Crawford among casuals but not Porter, Thurman or any 154er PBC fighters including Charlo.

It's not everything but look at their social media following numbers. Thurman, Porter and the 154er roster clearly lagging behind Pac, Swift, Spence and Bud. Danny is kinda the odd one out with his popularity going downhill recently but still he's pretty known.
