One of my personal favorite fighters... back when touching the canvas wasn’t frowned upon..

I remember watching one of his fights and Lampley said He came back from getting dropped in like 5 fights or some shyt and came back to stop that opponent each time :heh::salute:

i think i like usyk by decision over all the heavyweights. no thats half true. i like usyk by decision or the other guy by knockout. you ought to go back and watch those wsb amateur fights. you get to see usyk fighting heavyweights.

i have this theory that the trend in the heavyweight division has been to get bigger and stronger. that there has been a race to the top to try lift all the weights and take all the vitamins to get the most size advantage you can have. so they got bigger and stronger. and they also got stiffer and slower. the other part of that theory is that they also got less skilled. you could say that, in large part, that long reign that wladimir klitschko had over the heavyweight division all those years had a lot to do with modern heavyweights becoming so big and so slow, that none of them could get past a jab anymore, or get out of the way of a right hand anymore. and that a heavyweight that can pick off slow moving targets with one big right hand - like klitschko, like wilder - will always become the heavyweight that will dominate the modern heavyweight environment. i digress.

thats why im interested in michael hunter and usyk at heavyweight. they represent a return to small, quick heavyweights who have to win with their skill. that does still matter. skill that is. then again thats only a theory. funny thing about usyk in the wsb tournament is, he had the toughest fight with the smallest heavyweight he faced in the tournament, and he clowned the biggest heavyweight he faced in the tournament. if the dinosaurs went extinct because they got too big, then maybe the same thing will happen one day to these heavyweights. but thats only a theory.

That’s what I originally thought but I didn’t like the reaction to some of them hits in the Bellew fight but it might not matter. Really wish we could have seen Uysk vs a Chisora or big Active Heavy first big I was always impressed by those WSB fights

i think if he can take a punch, itll be real hard for heavyweights to beat him cause of his pace. nobodys going to match that pace at heavyweight. thats one of the things that the more you bulk up the less of it you have.

Yeah thats not a bad theory, boxing is not dissimilar to any other sport, in that trends, styles etc seem to ebb and flow and develop as a reaction to the top dawgs. In other words, when someone comes along with something new and successful (be it sheer size, or speed and skill, or a new technique) then most pro camps, amateurs, enthusiasts etc emulate it until something else comes along.

There's nothing to suggest that Usyk can't be uber successful as heavyweight, aside from the lack of sheer size. He has some exceptional traits (speed, lateral movement, in and out, punch output under duress etc).

Bob will make a fight for Bud when bob wants.. we’ve seen this movie a couple times already over the years:manny:

if TR offered the deal Khan got (5 Milly) maybe one of the PBC Welters would’ve jumped at it

Instead TR offered 3 :beli:... Nobody can tell me why cuz 2019 Khan is not a bigger draw then any of PBC 147 fighters :stopitslime:

Crawford is right tho he don’t need PBC cuz the anti PBC groupies are all in with him N they’ll accept whatever he does because he’s their only shot

Take Crawford’s career... everything the exact same ... every fight every W... every opp the exact same...except he was never with TR... he was with PBC...100% guarantee the narrative on Crawford is drastically different... there would be ALOT more nikkas sounding like me :russ:

Usyk would beat Joyce at pro I believe, Usyk vs Dubois 1 day would be entertaining because Dubois has huge power and can box to, it's all gonna be how his chin is I feel.if it's great he can be a champion.
