khan's best showing as a pro

when ppl like throw on the rose colored glasses on maidana because he whooped broner and gave floyd hell..just remember...maidana did lose a war to amir khan :heh:

Imo the Maidana under Robert Garcia was a whole different beast than the one predating that. He developed a nice jab and Garcia brought out the absolute best of him. I think the Maidana who beat Broner's ass and gave Floyd one of his toughest tests ever is clearly better than the one losing to Khan.
Not to knock Khan's win though it's still a nice one.

This my thing as well. last heavyweight unification since ibragimov and wlad was Lennox Lewis vs holyfield. Imo ibragimov probably would have beaten the rest of the HW. In that era except the Klitschko and valuev no champ exceeded 6'4 . Haye maskae Rahman Sam Peter povetkin sultan chagaev John Ruiz Brewster stirvine roy jones (think only Sanders and Briggs were 6'4).
Even then when you look at em the Klitschko Bros BMI was better compared to most of em.
Idk
i think it also spilled over into wilder's era and the success of a style like that is magnified by the era it is in. the ability to pick off a slow, bulky plodding heavyweight with a right hand is inflated by an era where heavyweights like those are widespread. i dont know if quick, dynamic heavyweights like usyk will be able to exploit this era, but i think they will probably need to be better than the ibragimovs and the hayes of the previous era to really create a shift.

Usyk was giving wlad issues in sparring. If he can take the power it will be hard for these heavies to keep up that pace. It's a reason why heavies of old weren't the muscle bound guys in the era of 15 or more rounds. It's why if he can take the power fury may be the most difficult challenge for him.

Amirs best showing as a pro was vs Zab Judah; vs Chino there should have been two plus 10-8 for Khan turning his back and running(which is a automatic 10/8 in my book)

Vs Judah he appear to be a problem and appeared to be on peds as well:manny:

I was just thinking about how much Boxing history/stories will be lost when Bob Arum passes.
Alot of the old guard will be falling..him and King..i gotta say for Arum..they make him seem very lucid in the papers/articles like hes not 88. but in person dude shows every bit of that 88..shyt sometimes he didn't even seem all there :heh:

The guy I work with that used to work for TR told me over 3 years ago that Arum's losing it pretty bad lol. He would get mad AF over imaginary shyt & minutes later would totally forget he even flipped out
