A Ward used to be one of those trap game type battlers, he was the big blemish on Geechie's record for COTY because of that. Seems like he's taken more seriously now though

Interesting. I would say Nitty did bring it, not sure if I would say Verb did. Verb is just Verb and raps that way pretty much for everyone now. It wasn’t like he went above and beyond. The funny thing is DNA doesn’t really have a lot of recent solo battles. He had Bill Collector, I thought Bill wasn’t that good. He had Danny Myers, I thought both of them were awful. Twork didn’t even write and second or third like you said. I don’t know. I feel DNA still could count in this, if Ave counts in this, because I can say the same amount of people have put up some of their better performances against him (Ill Will, T-Top, Nitty, O-Red, Geechi).
Only Math and Arsonal really slacked off the top of my head. And Math was more the stumbles than material.

Let me clarify with AVE. I do believe when he was fresher, he could have gotten better performances out of those guys.

He’s a punchline guy, and like all punchline guys, they lose steam. Nitty is like the only exception here. I personally felt like starting at the bmagic battle and going forward, Ave has been nothing but “meh,” and I think his opposition feels that way. Consistent baby punchlines with no haymakers, but it just does the job.

Hell I don’t think bmagic says anything hot anymore, but if he remembered his rhymes, he could get by like Ave does.

The battles you listed were prior to the bmagic battle except the ill will battle , which I haven’t seen.

Geechi doesn't get nearly the level of hate Surf does (yet), people pretty much just like him. But as far as the debatable battles thing, it's a good comparison, even though Surf is a better lyricist than Gotti.

I like it though. I'd rather guys who keep good, debatable battles pumping out than watching a guy who consistently wins but is wack entertainment wise (TODD, DNA).

Damn near all white battlers are trap battles. No one wants to really battle them in general.

They’re the worst people to battle because outside of I guess Iron (and even then) you don’t get much reward for beating them and if theyre remotely competitive it’s basically an L for you to the general consensus.

Anyone seen that new Math episode wit Goodz? The first few minutes when Math wanted to do a regular off the top cypher wit him, msfit,Knowledge,Soul Khan n Goodz. Disappointed that Goodz couldn’t come up wit nuttin on the spot.. Makes me question sometimes if they b writin their own ish cuz that ish is suppose to b simple smh..

Clips definitely beat Roc in the rematch, it's just Roc did so much better than expected people wanna give him the W. If you watched the battle without knowing who either was, you would say Clips 3-0 no body.

Agree but I never got why people hyped the 1st battle
Roc ain't lose off quality of material he lost off length

Maybe he just can't freestyle. Doesn't mean he can't write. Goodz definitely doesn't have anyone writing his bars, and if he does he should get his money back.

your logic doesn’t make any sense at all

15-20 years ago I bet he has 30 raps memorized in his head ready to battle or cypher at any given moment. To expect a guy to move like that in his mid-thirties is not realistic imo.
