Movie wasn't that bad.

And definitely the bad parts aren't Zack Snyder's fault.

You can tell they are trying to catch up with marvel, but do it in their own way...you can see there was too many fill in the gap moments from movies that should have been made before this one.

I can accept this Lex, because he seems paranoid about what's to come.

Bottom line, if you want witty one liners and non stop action and everything spelled out for you, you won't like this. Otherwise, it's a solid B flick with some continuity, story, and editing issues.

Just on the way home listening to sports radio and the host mentioned the sad Ben Affleck meme.

Then he started going in on how dead Hollywood must be for them to come up with the idea of Batman vs Superman and how dead it must be for someone to hear that idea and think it's good. He called the movie disgusting and brought up the RT score.

Dude sounded offended as fukk about the idea of Batman vs Superman, you'd think the idea killed his father and raped his mother the way he sounded.

I was listening to his rant with the :dahell:

Brehs, I've been hearing all over people claiming Affleck is THE best version of Batman, from his acting to how the character looks and acts. Is this true or is it just overhyped cause it's a new movie? People thought he was gonna ruin it, kinda funny.

Nah, he's really just an excellent Batman. This is coming from someone who hated him for like 10 years after Daredevil, started coming around to him with his recent run (The Town, Argo, Gone Girl all featured good performances by him), and then immediately picked his pitchfork up when I heard he was being another superhero lol. He's doing the damn thing. He's just doing that in a film that's HIGHLY divisive.

Like I said earlier, Bale's TDK is prolly my favorite trilogy, but Batffleck would rape him and make him his bytch.

Imagine this Batman vs. Ledger's Joker :wow:

Then again :patrice: with him going full goon status it might not be as compelling or have the same vibe as with Bale's.

Leto will do :ehh:

How would you rank him amongst the others to play Batman?

I...didn't like this film. And I totally see where the critics are coming from. It's a mess. However, I can totally see how someone could watch it and love it. To me though, it's attempting depth...and it's failing. The execution is highly lacking. Snyder's films have a tendency to raise these lofty, interesting questions.

They're set up to explore certain themes that me, as someone who loves movies gets ready to salivate over. And then the execution is just clunky as fukk. He cannot hold it together, and i'm fully convinced he's just not good enough of a filmmaker to make it work. I think if his attempts connect with you, then you're golden. He has made a "deep superhero film" to you.

But to me, the closest he's come is Watchmen. And even that took the source material which was rich with themes and deep characters, and drained it of a lot of its intelligence and nuance. An amazing series made for an decent movie.

I feel a lot of people have already touched on my criticisms, so I won't go too deep. But this guy...sucks at making "Superman is a God in modern times" as deep of a concept as he thinks. He's got the central idea of "if he existed, humanity would be apprehensive and scared as fukk" down...but operating from that premise, he just can't carry the shyt out in a 3 dimensional fashion.

You've got this joyless, mostly inept, bull in a China shop ass Superman, who rarely seems too broken up when he fukks shyt up...and you're using this character as a Jesus Christ parallel. He's too fukking problematic to be Jesus. I actually LIKE Superman, but he's portrayed so badly here, that I kinda wanted him dead. Because humanity within the movie would be better off without him.

This movie was absolutely rushed, but I allowed it because I know DC wants to hurry up with its cinematic universe. I don't mind. What I really enjoyed was the fact that the atmosphere/tone of this story was the exact same as Man of Steel and completely different from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It definitely sets itself apart. Affleck was the best part of this movie, and I hope after Justice League, they really lock in and do thorough single movies of the different characters.

Oh... and are they not using Green Arrow in this universe?

I honestly think he's the best live action Batman. Part of that is obviously the material. His parts of the movie ALWAYS had my attention. He really did get across how tormented the character was, and how charming he's gotta be as Bruce. And he was intelligent for the first time in a long time...well until a certain plot element comes into play anyway. Batman was finally given fight scenes that showcase the characters skill (though his strength was a bit crazy lol) as well, which certainly helped.

I will say that Christian Bale is a better actor overall, and he was in better movies for the most part than this. But if there's anything Snyder nailed here, it was Batman. And...not much else for me.
