I appreciate them trying to make a different Lex Luthor, as that character has always seemed incredible boring to me... but i guess it didn't work

Wow It was amazing brehs, it made me cry:mjcry:

I understand the complaint about it being edited randomly at times but it didn't take me out of the movie at all.
I got chills when Wonder Women was fighting.
I was called crazy when I said this movie would do a certain storyline even though it was the only thing that made sense when it came to JL...I love being right :blessed:

I saw the first hour and change of the movie before having to leave due to an emergency so cant give a proper review yet.

But what i saw was all over the place. This certainly wont win any awards for editing. Holy crap this movie shifted gears/scenes like every 30 seconds!

What I liked:

Jeremy Irons was dope
Not actual mad at Ben
The first cameo was actually dope (now i knew who it was but the average movie goer will have no clue unless that got explained later)

What I did not like:

EISENBERG AS LUTHOR IS PHUCKIN' ATROCIOUS!!!
The editing (again)
The dream sequences came outta nowhere at times (and one was too heavily choreographed)

*my theater actually :russ: at the opening when the bats lifted young Bruce towards the light

Biggest reaction in the theater also came during the Civil War trailer when Spider-Man appeared

edit: forgot to mention this also

When Young Bruce fell in the hole, saw the bats, and then they surrounded him and LIFTED him back to the surface :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

and yeah I know it was a 'dream' but still...so ridiculous!

but real talk though I am going back tonight to see this. And if this is as bad as some are saying, I feel like they could easily redeem this by making this Earth 3 and having these characters be the Crime Syndicate since they are such a departure from how most know them. :manny:

I don't even think its this, I think Snyder just doesn't like that version of superman. Hell, I don't particularly care for it either. Maybe that's why I didn't mind MoS.

Heard him say something in an interview that "It was time for superman to grow up"

Even Nolan told him not to have Supes Kill Zod, Snyder thought he needed to do it. Shows what kinda supes he wants.

But still, I don't think that's fair to true fans of Supes. Its almost akin to taking deadpool and making him a mute, when he's known as the merc with a mouth. :dead:
Whatever version he likes, the one he's come up with is empty and bereft of any underpinning principles.

I'm sure there's a way to make a Superman in the vein he's going for with a darker more angsty tone but he's had two movies to define the character and has utterly failed. Killing Zod wouldn't have been an issue and could have potentially been a cathartic defining moment for the character if the foundation had been set right. But in the end it said nothing for the character and left the audience cold.

The bolded is such a massive divergence not only from the character but also from reality. He's banking on this notion that hope and optimism are childish foibles and that by abandoning them he's portraying a 'grown-up' version of the character, but it all ends up coming off as juvenile because of how inconsistent it is.

You don't even have to be a true fan of supes to cry foul. Whatever Snyder was aiming, for the character arc was botched from the get go.

He added nothing to this or MOS besides looking the part. He's so dry in everything
Superman in every medium is dry to an extent. The stoic boyscout is a staple of the character. He's a blank slate and the world created around him either makes him interesting and nuanced like in the animated Justice League or an inert mess like in Snyder's universe.

Not really because there's very little to no character development in that film. From start to finish, he's Wade Wilson-Deadpool. Not a 'bad' thing per se but the goal with Synder's Superman is clear.

They're really telling a story there in my humble opinion.

What is the goal? That, he will eventually become the superman we see in the cartoons?
