Lol, perhaps.
But I imagine they would also make a movie that celebrates what those characters are all about and embarces what made them icons in the first place. I also imagine they would be a lot of fun and could serve as entertainment for the whole family.
Marvel doesn't always get the movie right but they're really good at getting their characters over. they would definitely turn superman back into an entertaining character.
I was perfectly fine with the character of Superman in MOS.
He was a bit reckless and at times lost but wanting to do the right thing which didn't always work out optimally because he has a bit of a temper.
That worked for just as much as Reeves' portrayal of the ever smiling, Dudley Do Right, truth, justice and the American way version.
I don't need to see the so-called "iconic" versions on the screen and don't feel MOS didn't "get" the character. He was an alien adopted by human farmers who wanted to do good...that is the basic ingredient of Superman and I think MOS delivered that. Now if you disliked what they built up from that core then I won't argue with you because we all have different tastes.
I will argue with this insistence by critics of MOS/Marvel movie fans who constantly go on about DC/WB should be making these happy, light, family friendly movies.
We get that from Marvel already, why do we need it from DC/WB?
