If you have to watch or read something else to understand a plot point in a movie the movie failed at telling it's story.

2001: A Space Odyssey or most Kubrick films disagrees with you.

There's such a thing as deducing it yourself. But if it is a film dedicated for true comic nerds....then don't fault the film to make the film for that. After DECADES of people complaining how comic book movies sellout because it isn't true current comic book interpretations.

Yes... They were caught in between MOS and now... That means they're already caught:dahell:

And how do you know Lex doesn't know about them? Theyre not metas but if they were doing crimes and got caught then more than one person knows about them anyway... They're already in jail after MOS and most were probably caught by Batman.

We know the Joker has existed in the universe because Robin is dead... Some of these are old criminals... How would they not be caught already. The trailer starts with them all in their cells
That also means they were out in the world and Luthor (not Lex right??) could have observed and documented like he did the JL members.
They didn't show him having any knowledge of them so why assume he does?
I thought Robin being the Joker was also a possibility?

Why would Luthor need info on them when Argus already had info... As well as Batman, most likely the police, etc:dahell:

And "possibly" but more than likely Joker killed Jason Todd just like in the comics...

But we'll see what they decide to do with it when it drops

Argus? Who's that? Why would Luthor not document like he did the JL?
I really don't care about the particulars. My only point is it was a missed opportunity to connect two movies coming out back to back.

Argus... The secret company that Waller works for.. Where the Suicide Squad is even formed?

Because there are already documents on them breh... Rick Flagg was reading them in the trailer. And why would it even fukking matter, they're NOT metahumans. When have they even been considered? Lex was collecting data on unknown metas... Not criminals who do magic, have slight abilities, assassins, and a crazy bytch

And the only connection between these 2 movies is Batman... They were never connected to JL in any other way

Sorry, I'm not up on DC lore. Seems like a requirement to enjoy these.
And I'm saying that's a shame. They should try to connect them since they are after one another this year.

Well that's completely understandable but you don't necessarily need to
They kinda explain themselves. All you need to know about Suicide squad is that there is a secret government agency that's housing some unique psychos and decide to use them against more powerful unique psychos.

BvS is basically a couple Billionaires with their own secrets and agendas feeling threatened (or jealous) by the super powered alien discovered in MOS and now they want to stop him or expose him... While discovering that there are other metas that are just as powerful in the process

That's what I'm saying.

If you watched Flashpoibt Paradox then you kinda understand certain things in this movie.

No... You and a couple others are the only ones who don't understand :heh:

My casual ass family understood the movie perfectly and loved it. I'm the only one whose probably into the comics like that and I definitely understood it:heh:

Honestly.... If you have any type of comprehension skills and paid attention to the movie you could understand what's going on

The movie itself wasn't deep but things were thrown in that had no relevance to anything else that happened in the movie. These are things that comic writers are creating theories about and you stated makes sense if you saw a different movie before hand. It's not an issue of the movie going over peoples head, it's just not a well put together film. It tried to be deep, failed and the entertainment value dropped because of it. That's why even a lot of those who liked it said it was good not great, mention story, editing and pacing issues and always seem to mention that it's not a perfect movie before saying what they like about it.

The movie wasn't horrible but it had flaws, how much you liked it depends on how much those flaws bother you.

What's the difference between a meta and the characters in Suicide Squad?

Metahumans have superhuman powers most of the characters on the team are just skilled in one area or another. Though the trailer made it seem like the one guy had fire based powers and some versions of Killer Croc are superhuman, so we'll have to see how it plays out in the movie.

Reddit on it brehs :wow:
Exaclibur was just on the other day too.

Excalibur (1981) is shown on the marquee at the theater ("Coming Wednesday") on the night Batman's parents are killed. Excalibur is an incredibly faithful adaptation of Le Morte d'Arthur.
In the end Batman slams the spear into the ground (stone). He pulls the spear out of the ground before he attacks Superman (sword from stone). After he realizes he's become the bad guy, he abandons the spear the same way Arthur did after he abused its power to defeat Lancelot. Lois is the lady of the lake, tossing the spear into the water and then having to get it back before the final fight. The fight between Batman vs Superman is similar to the fight between Lancelot and Arthur (two good guys fighting against each other due to hubris and passion, eventually reconciling to fight the main bad guy)
Doomsday is Mordred. In the end Superman stabs Doomsday and gets stabbed in return, and Superman impales himself further to stab Doomsday through the back and kill him, same way the fight between Mordred and Arthur goes. Doomsday's unnatural creation also mirrors how Morgana created Mordred to some degree.
There may have been more I missed.
