Ebony Maw is a better villain than some comic book movies main villain. Dude had a ton of charisma and smarmy menace. His abilities just looked cool. The movie lost something when he took his L.

The other Black Order goons though:camby:

this is true..he killed that movie...was giving strange that work lol

Caught the 7 pm showing last night. Here's a spoiler free review:

THE BAD:

1. Too much humor. If you break down who is actually cracking jokes....most of the characters aren't. But the movie heavily revolves around the Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor, who are both comic relief in the MCU. Most of the other humor comes from characters who clearly don't like each other (like Stark/Dr. Strange) and/or how odd some of the pairings are. Can't really get into that without spoilers. That stuff is fine, though.

2. A major plot point is established in this movie....but it refers to a conversation that took place in the past, which we never seen. You'll understand what I mean when you see it. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but these movies all connect so it's kinda :what: that they didn't have the foresight to actually put the conversation in a previous movie. It just comes out of left field.

3. Really weird distribution of character focus. I'd say the characters with the least screen time are Cap and Black Panther. BP I can understand since this movie was done before his movie came out....but Cap is a fan favorite and he's not given much to do here. Ironman shines, and so do new comers like Dr. Strange and Spider-Man. And (for better or worse) Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor get a ton of screen time.

THE GOOD:

1. Listen....fukk everything I said above. Go see it for Thanos. I know I said the movie mostly focuses on Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor....this is Thanos movie. He has the most screen time.

He is a GOAT level villain. Actually, to say he's a villain simplifies the character because his motivations and logic 100% make sense. Aside from wanting to erase half the universe you get the vibe that he might be cool to hang out with. He actually shows compassion and sorrow....there's a scene where I actually felt :mjcry:for Thanos. He isn't evil for fun, he takes no joy in what he does. He feels like he has a duty and he's going to do everything in his power to fulfill that duty.

And he has considerable power. He's a fukking threat. He doesn't crack jokes....he doesn't yell shyt like Apocalypse in that last X-Men movie....he speaks calmly, even politely. He'll tell you he respects you right before he kills you.

2. I know I focused on how funny the movie tries to be, and how that's a negative....listen man, I can almost give them a pass for that because the last 15 minutes are dark as fukk. Like, seriously dark. The theater went quiet as fukk and even afterwards there was very little chatter leaving the theater. Which is unheard of for a summer blockbuster.

Anyway, that's my spoiler free review. Peep this ASAP. I'm going again in a couple days because it's a lot of movie to digest.

Fred.

Saying this follows the comic doesn't make it better.

They throw everything else from the comics in the bushes but keep one aspect to create a cliffhanger that is pointless.

Russo bros thought they had a Illmatic...this shyt is Blueprint 2 status...

i had no idea the post-credit scene was a reference to captain marvel... call me stupid but for a moment i actually thought they were referencing galactus.

i thought i heard nick fury or that other chick say something along the lines of.. "we're picking up a signal and it's 10x bigger than Thanos"... or something like that.

i'm sittin there in the theater like :ohhh:"they're actually gonna do it.."

:heh:

ldoes thanos not have the power to create or transform matter with the gauntlet? if so, why can he not just make more food or more planets or whatever?

also, there were a few times when things happened that were not logical because they needed to occur for the story. examples would be how they didn't just kill vision, how starlord went crazy when they almost had the gauntlet, how gamora didn't know what thanos was going to do as soon as agent smith said he had to sacrifice someone.

.

Just curious, are you fairly familiar with the source material? They don’t call him “The Mad Titan” for nothing.

Before he got the gauntlet and stones..... it’s already got explained how he for years went and goes about his business..... he wipes out civilizations on planets. That’s just in him and he’s not gonna just chance once he gets absolute power.

They didn’t want to kill Vision because to them not only is he a living being, he’s part of there team. They’ve fought many battles before that they overcame and eve still then they believed they would overcome this no different than any other battle.

That Starlord thing was just blind emotion...... like he just literally reacted on how he felt at that moment.... like he blanked. No different then how shyt escalates in real life when something negatively shocking it traumatic happens to someone

For no 3 movies, it’s been established how much Gamora and her sister HATED Thanos. And with all the fukked up shyt she’s witnessed him do. She didn’t think he loved her or anyone. She like literally said that shyt right before what happened happened. So not sure how that can be mistaken, why would she think he loves her when he from her perception always been cold and she hates him with her everything?

Maybe if Captain Marvel was involved it would've been good. :troll:
Nah, I can see why they cut her...Movie was already sloppy.

I am super disappointed they didn't introduce not one new character.

Nothing exciting, nothing surprised me...Just a whole bunch of half ass fight scenes and jokes.

If that ending didn't happen I think peoples opinion would be a little different.

They played it way to safe with the rest of the movie.
