The movie really doesn't display much gay stuff outside of one scene. Its actually about more than just that.

Like I told my fam about this movie. Its really no different than Omar on The Wire....yet you watched that

If a person still doesn't understand the concept of white privilege, all they have to do is look at the year Nate Parker and Casey Affkeck had.

Both accused of sexual misconduct/assault. One is essentially blacklisted despite not being found guilty in court. The other wins one of Hollywood's most prestigious awards despite not showing any remorse or taking any responsibility for it

I think a lot of our homophobic brothers think being gay means you a woman. Just not close to true, it just means you like men. Chron was not emasculated at all in this movie.

Which is why I say it wasn't really a gay movie, just a coming of age story...a boy trying to find himself in a world that had everything going against him. Either way, I thought it should've won Cinematography.

This is still the best Oscars in years but I did think the crop of movies was lacking. . It had everything you could think of. AND That Kimmel vs Damon beef...Matt has to TP his car, Ashton Kutcher-to-Justin his house, hijack the show, send him on wrong flight....SOMETHING. I did miss the Jackie Chan tribute tho, could someone tell me how that was?
