In defense of the Oscar controversy and conspiracy theorists, no one talks about ANY of the other Oscars winners a couple of days after, either. It's been this way for a good decade. What's the last Best Picture winner that was still talked about a week later? Honestly, aside from the film buffs, black people didn't even see it.

i wonder will they ever be able to top this year's Oscars?

Very true. Nobody talks about Spotlight or hell what won the year before? Can't even remember or care.

i had to look it up
Birdman (2014)
12 Years a Slave (2013)
Argo (2012)
The Artist
The King's Speech
The Hurt Locker
Slumdog Millionaire
No Country for Old Men

Most of those are in the Bargain Bin, and I liked Birdman. Argo and No Country but outside of movie circles, never heard them mentioned. I've never even seen The Artist

I forgot about the artist, I never ever ever ever hear anyone mention that movie period. :russ:

Forgot about Birdman, I didn't hate it but it's overrated imo.

Kings Speech :scust:

Hurt Locker, nah. Not best pic, coo flick but not best pic.

the lead in The Artist is milk-cartoon status.

It really is hilarious how disposable films have become. From blockbusters all the way to prestige films. shyt's scary

If anything, this fiasco solidified Moonlight in history...granted forever linked to La La Land but that's better than the alternative :yeshrug:

music is worse. i know this is a hip hop site, but can you name a single band that came on the scene since 2000 that will be on classic rock stations in the future? i think about this all the time.

It still amuses me that anyone would describe Moonlight as graphic. One kiss, and a 90% off-screen sexual encounter where the most graphic moment is a hand touching the sand, and it's "OMG so graphic:damn:"

It's probably one of the least graphic rated R black movies out there.
Idk man the scene when....
the boys were lookin at each others dikks in middle school was
:picard:

Also, why couldnt they just kiss then skip to the cuddle part? Instead, they showed the handjob and kevin wipin the sperm in the sand. I was like...

Kosher brings on Kenny Charismatic and they get into it about how Get Out is a must see movie and why it is important in today’s society for films like this to be made. Kosher also rants about how good John Wick 2 is. Kenny feels some type of way about how the certain winners and what happened at the end of the award show. He also tells Kosher how diversity is a must in Hollywood starting now.

Kenny Charismatic really drops some gems about Hollywood and this years oscars please check it out.

School to prison pipeline. Masculinity in African American society. Single Moms and Father figures in African American boys lives.

Entire movie has themes that relate to black people.

What movie did you see?

The School to prison pipeline is the only one, and that is used as a way to move the story forward, not an examination of the issue. The other two are in About A Boy, Stranger Things, Boyhood and the majority of those coming-of-age stories about young boys. Those projects have no apparent racial messages in them, though. In addition, is Naomie Harris's character even able to be considered a single mother when she is negligent of being a parent? As I stated, not every movie with black people has a racial message. It is not a Do The Right Thing or Get Out situation. It has as much of a racial message as Precious or Creed have a racial message. Being relevant to black people does not make a movie about race, especially when the situations in the move are not relevant to the majority of black people. I like Moonlight, but it is not a movie about race, and there is nothing wrong with that.
