The problem in this place though is that if you stick up for a movie like moonlight then the assumption is your gay lol since someone actually negged me for it and called me a faq, so that was hilarious and shortsighted. In reality, you can stick up for it as a great movie created by a black man from a writing standpoint and a directorial standpoint and he should be lauded by that. You don't need to be gay to appreciate any of that. My opinions on homosexuality come from being friends with gay men and women and just being like "damn, these cats deserve the same type of shyt that I do and I couldn't imagine having an issue with a friend of mine about something so personal" and i also believe that we as black people get so caught up in being "black enough" and put definitions on what being black is and while it can be positive, it can also be incredibly negative and divisive

yeah i agree to an extent bc i also see it play out that way in my world through friends, colleagues, and even family... but i feel the majority aren't suppressing homosexual desires but are falling victim to pack mentality. If you don't denounce it at every opportunity then you support it or are a part of it. Moonlight was the best movie to come out this year. and it literally had no one white person in the movie. and yet nikkas crying about ohhhhh its an agenda to demasculate ussssssss. if you watched the movie it wasn't one person in that movie that was put in a light to be feminine. Yeah, I prolly have a different position on homosexuality than you do, but I ain't even at all confident in what I understand about it and I ain't going to go around hating on people because they disagree with me. In this case, the actually relevant point is that a movie can be a good movie or a poor movie regardless of the fact there's a gay person in it, because shyt, there's gay people in life and they got their stories. I'm happy for all the people involved in making it.

Now watch me see it some day and find out it's all demonic.
