Cubs win :ohlawd:

If alzolay hadn’t blown 4 saves , cubs would have the best record in mlb. Without steele, taillion, suzuki & now bellinger :sas1:

I'm shocked at how fast Jose Abreu fell of a cliff.
This dude is horrific at the plate now. He was league MVP in 2020. Granted it was the Covid season but still...

Historically baseball players get markedly worse in their post Age-34 seasons. But I thought he'd have held up better than this.

It’s too early to write off Houston in a weak American League West

They are off to a horrible start, but their division isn’t exactly murderers row.

Let’s see where they are at by Memorial Day

It might be for the best, maybe they just put Alvarez there sooner than later, first base is most likely his future position anyway.

You're right. But they're playing with fire.

Seattle is playing decent considering Kirby and Castillo have been unlucky to start the year.

Texas is getting Scherzer back soon, and they just got Nate Lowe recently. If Wyatt Langford starts to figure things out, the Rangers are gonna be tough in the division.

What's strange to me is the schedule. The Rangers and Astros don't play any games against each other after August 7th.
Going the final 6-7 weeks without these division rivals duking it out seems like a bad decision.

Astros most likely done blanket, no mlb team in history has started off 7-19 & made the postseason. Only 2 finished above .500

They gotta go on a tear the rest of the season to get to the 3rd wc wins from last season

Their lineup isn't the same and their pitching staff has been devastated by injuries. Verlander was out to start the season; Javier and Valdez are both out now; McCullers is still out. Hader and Pressly have been horrific.

They should be shopping Bregman if this season continues to spiral. He's been declining for years and is represented by Boras. There's already been talk about the ridiculous number he's looking for that definitely isn't happening but he'll probably be holding out until March like these other Boras guys this past winter. I don't know how much they could get for him but I'm sure someone would bite and offer something decent.

Yanks, Guardians, Dodgers (of course), Rangers, Brewers and Royals make sense as teams to take a shot on him for the stretch run.

They could really get frisky and dangle Altuve, who's also a free agent, still humming along and I think likely to age gracefully. He's the foundational guy of that franchise though and should retire in Houston. But I gotta imagine teams would give up quite a bit for him and they could still re-sign him in the winter.
