I can’t possibly imagine Saban taking the reigns from Kevin right before playing a fast tempo spread offense, since that’s where he made his money for the last half decade or so, but Muschamp’s pedigree with the in your face, press everybody style of defense, I have to think that’s what you’d get out of T-Rob now too.

Idek about defense to say which style better fits Alabama, but I do know for a fact Steele will do that bend don’t break, DBs play 10 yards off shyt until the wheels come off, and it feels bad running that when it falls apart

Four one-loss SEC teams are ranked in the top-25 right now. No other conference has any one-loss teams ranked.

Maybe it's their strong OOC schedules that got them ranked? Well, here are the combined OOC wins for ALL FOUR ranked SEC teams:

MTSU, South Florida, Virginia, Austin Peay, McNeese, and Grambling

AP rankings are a fukking joke when it comes to the SEC. :russ:

LSU's only wins are over Grambling and Mississippi State (who barely beat Arizona at home), and they got wasted by Florida State. So why are they ranked #12?

Alabama's only wins are over MTSU and USF, and they only beat 1-2 USF by 17-3....the same South Florida team that lost 41-24 to Western Kentucky. So why are they ranked #13?

Tennessee's only wins are over Austin Peay and 0-3 Virginia (who got beat at home by James Madison). So why the fukk are they ranked?

Florida got their shyt pushed in by a Utah team that didn't even have its starting quarterback. But all they had to do was beat McNeese and Tennessee and they're back in the rankings.

And of course there's also Georgia #1 with the easiest schedule in the nation (only OOC wins over UT Martin and Ball State, then playing UAB next week) and Ole Miss #15 after beating Mercer, Tulane, and Georgia Tech. Why the fukk is Ole Miss above all these undefeated squads with more impressive wins?

#17 North Carolina (beat South Carolina and Minnesota)
#18 Duke (beat Clemson)
#19 Colorado (beat TCU and Nebraska)
#20 Miami (beat Texas A&M)
#21 Washington State (beat Wisconsin)

Now that these early rankings are set, the voters are going to use them to justify pumping up the SEC teams in the standings for the rest of the year. But they have all those ranked teams based on literally nothing.

Simpson alright but he’s kinda slow at processing shyt, OL ain’t do him any favors.

Buchner is a FCS QB, then Covid evaluations fukked everything up cause no way he’s a 4 star and fukk Tommy Rees for even bringing him down.

Really just gotta ride with Milroe and hope the OL & RBs remembers how to block and if Milroe could just be a poor man’s Blake Sims I’ll take that.

If Saban somehow gets this team to the SEC title game it’ll be the greatest coaching job of his career cause this offense stinks, it’s 2005 after Prothro and Closner got injured levels of bad.
Facts

Milroe gives us the best chance to win but he has to cut down on the turnovers.

The offensive line needs an overhaul

Great response breh. :russ:

Aren't you tired of reflexively defending the SEC no matter how egregious it gets?
I never defend the SEC but we know the AP poll early in the season is to market games for TV.

There’s never been drastic change in the ranking based on week to week performance of teams that don’t lose

That hit deadass probably cost Hunter real money. Dude is unquestioned CB#1 going into year if he played lockdown against Nix and Williams back to back weeks. He may still have the chance to have some banner games noteworthy dudes with everybody they got in the P12, but ain’t nobody Caleb Williams
He has a another year left I think

It has a huge impact on perceptions. Without the polls, there is no chance that Alabama works have even been in the conversation last year, as a two-loss team with the worst wins if any contender. Yet. there they were.

Yeah because a TCU team that didn’t even win its conference did a hell of job contending for the chip

Oh by the way. What happened in bowl game with the team that won the Big 12?😌
