Yeah recruiting is fluid and you can’t look at one class as a reliable indicator of success (see 2008 Miami). However if you consistently recruit top 5-10 classes over a period of a few years, you’re pretty much certified to be in contention for a playoff or high ranking bowl game spot.

Texas A&M has signed like 15 4/5 star DL in the last 2 classes. Even if only 4-5 of them turn out to be good, that’s a monster D-line even though the other 10 might be busts or low level contributors / transfers.

Auburn had a lot of talent during the Malzahn era and some of those teams were good enough to make the CFP but I don’t think they were necessarily coached up properly or put in a great position to succeed and I’m mostly talking about the WR position.

That’s why recruiting is important but it’s not the end all be all because recruit has to do their part and the coaches have to do their part as well and you have to have the right culture in place.

yeah gus fumbled a lot of classes, but i think it’s because he wouldn’t stick to an athletic qb and he had his best success with a nick Marshall

pretty much agree in full.

I’d take a Kenneth Walker III who had one D1 scholarship offer, or 2* Leveon Bell over 4* LJ Scott any day.

I think Scott had some injuries…was a beast his frosh year, made the playoffs and I don’t think he ever rushed for more than 800-900 yards again. Fumbled the ball a lot too.

with that said, hindsight is always 20/20

thought bell was a 3, but that dude turned into a stud, slimmed up, got some hands

man talk about waste of talent, i just knew Scott had next dude exploded on the scene, and flammed tf out, it’s so sad too nikka had hella promise

Or maybe you could stop trying to tear down another black man in a prominent position :mjpls:

Maybe that black man should pull himself up by his bootstraps :mjpls:

why y’all ain’t got a black coach :mjpls:

Coach Kelly made the adjustment and hired an on campus recruiter.

Texas A&M is setting themselves up for a run in the next 2-3 years, barring any major attrition Jimbo will be the decider

Yeah we had the talent a few of those years to do some damage especially in 2017 but shyt tough. Playing the toughest schedule every year then we had UGA, Bama, and UGA again to close that 2017 season
Boys just ran outta gas, we was limping into that SECCG
