the class that had chase they had 5 hits, but they said in on of those classes 14 were hits, (that’s not the norm) they also said y’all lost a lot to transfer too over that time period
Idk about that Jamarr Chase class being good, I remember there were a lot of bust and it was the 15th ranked class, they did get Joe Burrow that year tho. The class before 2017 was the special class.

Jacoby Stevens, K’lavon Chassion, Austin Deculus, Jacob Phillips, Tyler Shelvin, Grant Delpit, Ed Ingram, Shadiq Charles, Patrick Queen, Neil Farrell, Clyde Edward Helaire, Kary Vincent, Tory Carter, Justin Jefferson

all these guys were either starters or big contributors on that 2019 squad

Now idk about Blake not having talent, he was a 5 star for a reason and he had a cannon of an arm but he was soft and didn’t have the shyt to be starting QB, that’s why it only took one quarter for Jalen to take his spot.

Yeah and quite a few I counted that hit at Bama didn’t even necessarily hit in the league and some of the 5 stars like Ben Davis barely saw the field.

Also, with the portal becoming increasingly popular, a lot of cats aren’t even with the program after a year or two, that’s why, while I get excited about recruiting classes, I realize that half of em won’t play meaningful football at Alabama.

it’s wild when you think of it, but it also makes me balk when people say so-so is recruiting

whole time 10 nikkas hit

2015: 8/28
2016: 9/23
2017: 8/22
2018: 15/23
2019: 14/21
2020: 14/27

someone bullshyting with all this talent, but that’s why i was tripping when @Silkk was like auburn challenges Bama I’m like they getting more heat than we do they should challenge them, auburn was getting top 10 classes

Auburn had a lot of talent during the Malzahn era and some of those teams were good enough to make the CFP but I don’t think they were necessarily coached up properly or put in a great position to succeed and I’m mostly talking about the WR position.

That’s why recruiting is important but it’s not the end all be all because recruit has to do their part and the coaches have to do their part as well and you have to have the right culture in place.

that’s my point, there are more misses in peoples classes, so i think when signing day comes around folks gotta relax ( in my Nore Voice) and a separate discussion is what’s developed, because For dantoni yes he turned shyt to sugar, Fickle turned shyt to sugar, taking a dude benching 300 plus, running a 4.3 and a tackling machine and turning him into a drafted player is not developing, it’s more about keeping him focused, out of trouble and how you use him on the chess board, i understand the value, but you are essentially starting on 3rd base if we are keeping it funky

pretty much agree in full.

I’d take a Kenneth Walker III who had one D1 scholarship offer, or 2* Leveon Bell over 4* LJ Scott any day.

I think Scott had some injuries…was a beast his frosh year, made the playoffs and I don’t think he ever rushed for more than 800-900 yards again. Fumbled the ball a lot too.

with that said, hindsight is always 20/20

They say 40% of classes washes out/transfer/retire/kicked out/ becomes a night manager without touching the field

So this brings a thought, from 2015-2021 how many hits vs misses did your schools classes have
Like how many touched the field significantly/went to the league of each years class ??

Coach Kelly made the adjustment and hired an on campus recruiter.

That class was so trash but top heavy. You do have to add Joe Burrow and Cole Tracy as transfers to it though. Crazy how our lowest rated class with all those busts was the backbone to a championship run.
