The selected games could be announced as early as late Wednesday afternoon.
:scustbaugh:
There is a caveat to the selection, though. Delany said the league is "reluctant" to ask schools with "giant seating capacities" to host Friday night games.

This would seemingly rule out Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, etc.

A 6-seed playoff makes the most sense to me. :manny:

The top 2 seeds get a bye. Seeds 3 & 4 hosts the first round at their home stadium against 5 & 6 the week after the conf championship games. Both teams are awarded $1 million for the 1st round games and most stadiums should be near full (not many fans will be on winter vacation just yet and exams will be the week after). Also stadiums aren't in much use in the beginning to mid December. The losers of each game will be picked up by the NYear bowls, accordingly.

This gives the each Power 5 champion a virtual spot and a group of 5 team a spot (if they finish top 6).

This is how it would look with the current rankings:

Dec 10th
#3 Michigan v #6 Ohio State - Michigan Stadium

#4 Texas A&M v #5 Washington - Kyle Field

Dec 31st
Fiesta Bowl
#2 Clemson V Texas A&M/Washington

Peach Bowl
#1 Alabama v Ohio State/Michigan

Jan 9
Championship
So you have a committee of people deciding what two teams get a bye...in this case...Clemson gets a bye above Michigan...because...reasons...and Michigan, while the team they are HIGHER than in the polls sits at home...must face Ohio state for he second time in three weeks...and having another game of wear and tear on their bodies, in December in Ann arbor

:Mindbaugh:thats a nightmare.

Looks good and makes sense, i think they'll eventually get there(6/8).

Not sure how that would work as far as school academic schedules(BS excuses), and the possibility of a team playing 16 games, and stuff.

Les talking about he has 10 to 12 years left and he's been studying dynamic offenses :snoop:

Why the fukk he wasn't studying dynamic offenses while he was employed? :mindblown: Damn near everyone has started using a version of the spread in the last 10 years and he ran a 1995 offense in 2016 :beli:

The 2/3 and 6/7 seeds will be prone to controversy in this scenario, but we both know at the end of the season if both Clemson and Michigan win out, Michigan will be the #2 seed as they are projected to have a tougher conference championship along with beating OSU. Big Ten champion will be ranked ahead because it's been the better conference so far.

Also, if it comes down to it, I can imagine the committee choosing the warmer school as the 3 seed for weather reasons. That school would still be awarded a huge amount of money (a million may not be enough. Maybe 2+ million) and they have a extra game to gain revenue. Also, the 1st round still gives them 3 weeks to rest before the NYear bowl games.
