Comments on Raptors' picks in the past drafts that @tremonthustler1 posted vs real life picks, and thoughts on this year's pick:

2010 - I'd feel bad for taking Ekpe Udoh ahead of Larry Sanders and Ed Davis if the GS Warriors didn't actually take him 6th overall for real. He never caught up to NBA speed, and his physical advantages from college are no longer advantages in the NBA. Ed Davis, the actual pick, is hands down a better player, but neither are game changers.

2011 - Kawhi Leonard went #5 in the Coli mock draft, and #15 in real life. Jonas Valanciunas went #15 in the Coli mock draft, and #5 in real life. I wouldn't say JV is a bad pick, but was hoping for Kawhi's name to be called and was surprised he slid so far.

2012 - Lillard and DeRozan would be a great backcourt without the aging concerns Lowry brings. The Lowry trade never happens if this plays out. Unfortunately Dame was gone by the time we picked. Unbelievable that we didn't take Drummond, who went 4th overall in the Coli draft. I paced back and forth clutching my head when we passed on him. It was such an obvious pick, any other name being called was shocking. The same summer, Colangelo made Valanciunas unavailable in James Harden trade discussions when he could have sealed the deal. A summer filled with fire-able offenses.

2013 - No pick thanks to the Lowry trade. Props to @Loose for taking Gobert instead of Adams with our pick that OKC ended up with. Can you imagine a Gobert/Ibaka frontcourt? Good luck scoring in the paint against that combo.

2014 - The Suns snaked us for Ennis, the rat b*stards. No one expected Caboclo to be the pick and the jury will be out on him for another couple of years. I wanted Rodney Hood (#15 in the Coli draft, #23 in real life) when we were on the clock. He closed the season strong and will have a solid career as a shooter with size. He would have taken Ross's starting spot if we took him.

For this upcoming draft, Masai should take the best player available. There should be significant roster overhaul this summer anyway, so duplication shouldn't be a concern.

Fans of teams drafting in the late 1st round-

Ask me anything about Christian Wood, the greatest prospect out of UNLV since Anthony Bennett :troll:

I really need the Lakers to get one of these guys. If nothing else, for my sanity.

You wouldn't want Russell? From what I've seen and heard, even though he has a finesse game, he has more heart than all of these nikkas. Also I doubt Winslow will develop much of an offensive game, he's a little too raw from that standpoint. I find that if you're a streaky shooter and you never really show a handle then it won't really ever come until late in your career. You would probably want Stanley Johnson before him if you're part of LWO

Got LWO future goat pf last yr gonna get us next goat point guard or center this yr :win:

Unless we lose pick :damn:

As long as you guys get a top 5 pick then you should be good. Preferably top 4.

I hope the Lakers get a good pick too I'm rooting for them to get it together

Hezonja has a bigger body so he won't be injury prone like Gallo and should be able to D up.

Uncertain grounds
:rudy:
Ginobli; Nash, Dragic, and Chandler Parsons all rang the bell.

no euros tho, ginobili is argentine :troll:, and dragic is a PG (in regards to my SG argument)

that "white perimeter players" narrative was inaccurate but there is SOME basis for specifically euro SG's..more zone played over there than here, not an easy adjustment. he has all the tools but i wanna see it in the nba before i believe it

thats not to say i think itd be a reach to take him top 5-10, because it wouldnt be based on film/attributes etc..but im not sold on it right now

Rudy Fernandez had his athleticism but was too frail and didn't have a handle.
I'm not saying he'll be a superstar, but best case he'll be an AS player and worst case he's a great role player.
