The huge lift was speaking to astute fans then ability to knock song well produced Nas again. Those radio sheep think Got Urself A... And One Mic were good records. Stop playing dumb.
lol...9th Wonder still isn't in the public eye. Again, this is the message board box. Most rap fans don't even know who 9th Wonder is or just vaguely in passing. Nas fans and rap fans bought God's Son. God's Stepson had no impact whatsoever on the perception or sales of the album. Big Mel said it gave God's Son a huge lift. If anything, it probably convinced people who heard it that Nas' beat selection sucks, which would be more of a negative.

lol...you said you're younger than Kanye. Kanye is 35. So let's say you're 34 tops. 3 Feet High And Rising dropped in 89. That would put you at about 12 when it came out. You were on a Huffy or walking.
There you go again. Pointing out that 9th Wonder is not a hip-hop household name is not besmirching him. He's a top 5 producer right now in my book, he's not just not popular. So now you're conveniently speaking from the perspective of a foolish, radio rap fan to besmirch 9th? I see you.
are you saying got urself a... isn't a hot song that bears repeating in 2012? yikes breh i don't wanna live in your world

Song was ass then and is ass now. Where is that wack producer Megahertz at now? He's gone. Out of the game with hs keyboard trash.
I think you should be more outraged about the "One Mic" diss, which is just insane in my opinion.
Top 10, more than likely Top 5 Nas song ever in my eyes.
didn't read the whole thread but i take it this is another recycled run-of-the-mill nas album?

I wasn't saying that it did anything for Nas (It didn't), I was just saying that it took 9th from complete unknown to blogopshere known, which might as well be as good as the public eye (maybe not in '03, but whatever). And then he went on to more mainstream things after that.
And Hip-Hop fans don't know who 9th is? Really? This guy was the ass end of a million Fruity Loops jokes not too long ago. He's not THAT unknown in the Hip-Hop realm, he just stays out of the public eye pretty much.

I see you're unable to grasp basic logic. And this is part two to your tired act. Denegrade then claim to love. Cut it
out.
That is, one of the most cringe worthy performances ever comitted to wax by Nas. fukkin melodrama over a Phil Collins sample. Absolutely disgusting.
It's not a terrible album. Nas is a talented due and that show through. But like, I just kind of find myself saying, "who cares". After listening. If you've really enjoyed the last few Nas albums you'll like this as well.
