The NFL game is just such a vibe.

I said it in another thread NFL just got that brash and playful ignorance to it to be honest. It's American shyt.

It ain't about being ratchet or ignorant, but culturally the NFL atmosphere is loose because it's still primarily an American event with alcohol.
Even the replies to that tweet are people having fun and enjoying it.
It's an American event for Americans with American culture. Even immigrants who come to America adopt the NFL as part of their culture.
It's honestly more of a party/concert/festival/big event for adults.

I honestly think because the NFL got a vibe like this where everything is out in the open and everybody can point fingers at each other that it's pretty much accepted that it is what it is. This is how it gets down. I mean you got an NFL stadium straight up throwing pool parties up in the stands.

NBA never had nfl numbers. NBA has always been considered the black league even though the NFL majority black, they just are way more visible and speak up more. NFL players damn near talk about that shyt more than their own sport on media platforms

Calling it right now: 15 years from now the league will be majority international talent and bi/multi-racial. Talking over 70, maybe 80+ percent.

Which is great because you want the best players around the world playing the best players around the world.

However, less Americans will care.
You sure about that?

my warriors tickets cost to much I can’t even lie. If my wife and daughter want to go it’s a $1200 easy.
This is the issue people not paying attention too, the problem is they trying to price people out of basketball, in it’s essence it was always meant to be a inner city sport, they trying to make it a folks with money only game

Like Charles said they need to bring it back to the hood, the same way mlb builds academies in the dr(which is a whole other topic when talking about black mlb players) in every inner city in the country it should be a nba dedicated academies to train these shorties, and you can actually maybe help in other areas too

The signs are here that the NBA is heading the way of baseball, many of you already mentioned it. It is losing its general appeal, of course it's not going anywhere. But it could easily, easily be the next MLB within a decade in terms of popularity and cultural relevance...

The easiest fix would be the next Mega superstar coming in (Bird, Magic, Jordan, Bron levels), but they don't have this right now and are learning in real time apparently it isn't easy to find that kind of star. So without That Guy, they gotta put some real effort changing their trajectory because in a decade we could absolutely be talking about the NBA domestically the way we talk about MLB...

And yes, of course basketball would still be popular internationally, baseball is still popular internationally. But dudes aren't tripping, it's clear that NBA basketball is losing popularity domestically...

wtf was this Steph vs Sabrina shyt lmao come on man wtf

How you doing filler at all star weekend? The nba has no stars wtf
Thank God Steph won

With Caitlyn breaking the scoring record, McClung winning the dunk contest, Sabrina would have helped complete the cac trifecta. They'd be going nuts

You sure about that?
I'd say it's a strong guess I have. Definitely not sure, but it's an approximation I'm sticking to.

Simply the sheer amount of population around the world and they now have access to better training, coaching, learning the game isn't about the flash first but the fundamentals leading to the flash, etc. We're now seeing talent come out of Asian countries like Japan and Korea as well so I'm trying to account for an increase in representation from those countries as they learn how to play better basketball (like Australia has).

If I recall correctly we're now sitting at around 30% of the league being international players where 30 years ago that number was about 5%. It would not surprise me that in about 10 years we're sitting close to 50-55% at the rate it's moving. It's usually tricky to get the momentum going so I think international growth is past it's hardest obstacle as they've found the formula and system that is working for them so they can focus on optimization as other countries are now adopting their ways of improving how they play as well: I think this will benefit those countries who think the game is all flashiness.

Meanwhile we're dealing with the mess that is AAU when it comes to skill development and how hard it'll be to unwind the current system. Less prospects choosing college, more G-League for those showing potential. The game now also being about who has access to money in order to afford pro/semi-pro training for their kids.

I think it's just not about how much better the international talent is getting, but also how our players aren't getting the best training possible on the high school level. The late draft pick international talent additionally keeps outplaying the domestic picks during draft night and I think if this trend continues teams will start targeting the international talent more and more which they have started to already recently.
