Yes. The Original Arabs were black. Most modern people who call themselves Arab are not ethnically Arab. They are arabized peoples. During the spread of Islam in the 7th century the arab language and culture was also spread and it was adopted by people who were originally non-arab like the Iraqis who today call themselves Arab but are really ethnic Persians. Then there are the Syrians and Lebanese who also consider themselves Arab but are really of white Phoenician origin. The Sudanese are famous for also calling themselves Arab eventhough they are black Africans.

The only modern people who are true ethnic Arabs are a few tribes in Yemen, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. And alot of those people are heavily mixed with white non-Arab groups that came into the Arabian Peninsula from Persia and Turkey.

I remember reading the Kaa'ba in Mecca used to be covered in multi colour cloths including Red, green and white.....until the rulers made things boring and just put a Black cloth on it. I would love to see the Kaa'ba look more vibrant like before.

It's complicated but basically, these are the Arabs of the antiquity. The rest of the Arabs today are Arab in name only and culture. I'm busy, I'll come back to it. Queen Sheba spoke these languages and had the Incense Road on smash in the Horn and the Red Sea. East Africa and South Arabia was one polity throughout ancient times.
