The first R-rated film that I saw in the theater where I didn't have to sneak into. In addition to Cruise and Foxx doing their thing, I'd say the city of L.A. was the third best character in the movie. This small scene in Collateral is one of my favorites.
When Max stops his cab, with Vincent in the backseat, and the coyotes casually cross the street, highlighting the presence of predators in any environment. Then Audioslave’s “Shadow on the Sun” kicks in and the brief moment of connection between Max, Vincent, and the coyotes' eyes kind of reveal Vincent's hidden capacity for wonder and curiosity, despite his apparent detachment from the world. This mysterious scene captivates me, much like the movie as a whole.
Can you tell that I really love the hell out of this film?
